The world of ninjas can be extremely unforgiving. ThroughoutNaruto, there are instances where characters have suffered because of their powerlessness. Some ninjas train their entire lives, and yet they are still unable to win fights on their own.

So, these ninjas often try to form teams to bolster their chances of achieving their goals. The process of assigning ninjas to teams begins at a very young age because it is such a crucial thing. The teams are made after analyzing each ninja. While most of the teams inNarutoare good, there are some that have many shortcomings.

6Team Kurenai

Team Kurenai, or Team 8, is one of the worst teams in the series for various reasons. The team consisted of Hinata Hyuuga, Shino Aburame, and Kiba Inazuka. They were led by Kurenai, who was consideredthe best genjutsu userin the entire Hidden Leaf. The first problem with the team was that none of them learned any notable genjutsu techniques from their teacher, which is extremely odd considering she had such an incredible reputation.

When it came to combat, they weren’t anything special, save for Shino, who had the potential to become one of the strongest characters in the series, but the creator sidelined him completely. The only redeeming quality of the team was that they cared about each other and tried to help each other in times of need.

5Team 7 Under Yamato

Team 7 was at the heart of the majority of the events in the story. Originally, the team was made up of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. Sai was the replacement for Sasuke after the latter defected from the Hidden Leaf. When it came to strength, the reformed Team 7 was plenty powerful, but they lacked team effort.

Kakashi’s absence only amplified their problems further. The future Hokage was hospitalizedafter overexerting himself in combat. So, the duties were passed on to Yamato, who tried his best to make the team work together, but except for certain occasions, it never worked.

4Sand Siblings

The Sand Siblings were among the frontrunners topass the Chunin Exams. The trio hailed from the Hidden Sand Village, and they were led by Gaara. Despite being so young, the three siblings were believed to be capable enough to carry out dangerous missions.

Gaara’s elder siblings, Kankuro and Temari, were protective of their brother, but they also feared him to the point where they couldn’t even show their affection towards him. The Sand Siblings never functioned as a team, and it was evident why. Gaara treated Kankuro and Temari as nothing more than soldiers, and they were out of the spotlight for the most part.

3Team Konohamaru

Team Konohamaru is the new Team 7 fromBoruto: Naruto Next Generations. As the name suggests, it is led by Konohamaru Sarutobi, whois a Jonin in the sequel. The team has three of the biggest names in the story, which include Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki. Each member of Team Konohamaru is blessed with incredible power, and it won’t be an exaggeration to call them prodigies.

Despite having so many strong members, the team is quite dysfunctional. Boruto often runs off on his own, complicating missions. Sarada is a sensible person, but she is not dominant enough to tame Boruto. Mitsuki is an exceptional character, but he thinks too highly of Boruto, and this clouds his judgment. The spike in Boruto’s power and the introduction of Kawaki destroyed whatever remaining promise the team had.

2Team Udon

According to most fans,Borutois nothing short of a mess. Both the characters and the story are all over the place. The creators have introduced many interesting characters, but some of them have still not been made canon while others have been driven completely out of the spotlight. Team 5 is a mix of both.

It is led by Udon Ise, and it consists of Metal Lee, Iwabee Yuino, and Denki Kaminari. Out of the three Genin, only Metal Lee is a confirmed canon character. What is saddening is the fact that Iwabee looked like an extremely promising character in the early stages of the story. On the other hand, Denki had an entire arc in the anime dedicated to him. So, sidelining them completely was a bad decision. It is certainly true that Team 5 has barely accomplished anything, but it is through no fault of their own.

1New Generation Ino-Shika-Cho

Ino-Shika-Cho is a team that has been formed for decades. The team is made up of one member each fromthe Nara clan, the Yamanaka clan, and the Akimichi clan. InNaruto, this particular team consisted of Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi. The three had excellent teamwork, and they were easily among the best teams in the series.

They were succeeded by Shikadai Nara, Inojin Yamanaka, and Chocho Akimichi. The three characters certainly do look unique, but they don’t add anything special to the story. To many fans, they seem like a refurbished version of the previous generation, which makes them stale. Their absence from important arcs has further aggravated the problems. This has also prevented fans from seeing the power of these characters and what they are capable of doing. One might think that they will get some kind of screen time inBorutoPart 2, but at the moment, it seems like wishful thinking.
