From heroes to villains, the game has them all, with each card having several variant art cards players can get their hands on. Artists, inkers, and colorists have lent their talents toMarvel Snap, and whether they were inspired by theMarvel Cinematic Universe, the comics, or something else, there are dozens of gorgeous cards of everyone’s favorites.

8Angel (Duality Variant)

The mutant-born Warren Worthington III, most notably known as Angel, is a character who has served as the living embodiment of the duality of man. He has struggled to be the good he wished to see in the world, but at other times gave into his darker inhibitions.

Artist Greg Land and colorist Nolan Woodard managed to capture both that and the character’s relation to religion in a beautiful split-image piece accentuated by stain-glass art in the background. It’s one thing to capture the essence of a character through art, but thisMarvel Snapvariant does so at a level that feels so symbolic of the themes Angel represents.

7Doctor Octopus (Max Grecke Variant)

TheSpider-Mancorner of theMarveluniversehappens to be home to the only rogue’s gallery of villains that can rival that of DC Comics’Batman. Among Peter Parker’s most noticeable villains is a mentor-turned-antagonist named Doctor Octopus.

Known for being quite menacing and intimidating, artist Max Grecke provides a colorful cartoonish take on the octo-armed threat. Doctor Octopus has five other variant art cards in Marvel Snap, but none of them compare in terms of bringing that child-like energy and pop of color most Marvel fans were introduced to growing up watching Spider-Man cartoons as a kid.

6Deadpool (VenomizedVariant)

Any time artists pair two beloved characters into a hybrid crossover there’s a high chance that fans adore it. In theworld ofMarvelcomics, it’s hard to find two “not really good guys” as popular and/or beloved as Deadpool and Venom. They both manage to have engaging personalities that are matched by some of the coolest designs in the world of comic books.

The ‘Venomized’ card art variant ofDeadpool inMarvel Snapwas done by artist Ron Lim, with Jay David Ramos providing the coloring. Small details on the card art really pull it all together, from the guy screaming in terror on the bottom right, to the fact that this monstrosity is raiding a local taco truck for sustenance.

5Blue Marvel (Dan Hipp Variant)

Artist Dan Hipp has a variety of card variants inMarvel Snapthat bring a youthful exuberance to the world of Marvel comics. Blue Marvel is an incredibly powerful hero that has yet to make the jump to live-action via theMarvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t made an impact inside of the card game.

Having the ability to buff every other card the player controls on the board by one power can make all the difference. Dan Hipp manages to capture the power of the hero, but in a way that feels pulled directly from a Saturday morning cartoon of some sort. The proportions of the character also make it stand out as it’s not quite normal, but also not really chibi.

4Black Panther (Hero Variant)

One of the cooler collaborations to come out ofMarvel Snap’s early days on the scene is a music video for an original song called’Hero’from Martin Garrix and JVKE that showcases some of the most famous couples in theMarveluniverse.

The card art above showcases Black Panther’s look from that exact music video, with Jander Gonzalez serving as both the artist and colorist for the card.Black Panther can be a pretty powerful cardwhen placed at certain locations that make use of his On Reveal ability that doubles his power. It also works hand-in-hand with numerous other cards that can turn this 5 energy 4 power card into a true powerhouse.

3Blade (Luca Claretti Variant)

Fans of theMarvel Cinematic Universecan’t wait to get their first taste of Mahershala Ali as Blade. Until the vampire hits the big screen, though, they’ll have to satiate their cravings by using Blade’s card inMarvel Snap. Blade is naturally a cool-looking character, due to both his attire, as well as the fact that he hunts vampires for a living. Luca Claretti somehow didn’t get the memo and decided to go all-out on delivering one of the sleekest and elegantly badass takes on the Daywalker.

Wielding both his blade and stake in the light of a blood moon, Blade is waiting for his target to make a move. This is the type of art that belongs on a poster hanging in everyMarvelfan’s room, or on full display as a t-shirt showcasing how well Luca Claretti did at delivering a Blade card art variant inMarvel Snap.

2Mister Fantastic (Max Grecke Variant)

If one were to simply search all of the variants Max Grecke has done forMarvel Snapit’ll be clear he’s an all-star among talented artists. He has several card art variants inMarvel Snapthat feel like superior and fantastic representations of the characters featured on said cards.

Mister Fantastic is a father and genius who leads the Fantastic Four through the multiverse and beyond. Grecke’s variant displays Mister Fantastic’s elastic powers with both whimsy and reverence. The blues pop off of the screen, and the small detail of his foot swinging back into the frame on the top right of the card is a welcome dose of subtle comedy.

1Gamora (Deadliest Woman Variant)

Gamora, like the rest oftheGuardians of the Galaxy, turned into a mainstream beloved character thanks to James Gunn’sMarvel Cinematic Universedirectorial debut. It’s unclear where the character is headed in a post-Avengers: Endgameworld. Francesco Mattina is an artist who has arguably created the most gorgeous piece of art in all ofMarvel Snap. His take on Gamora showcases a deadly killer who has never let the generalizations of femininity come between her and her target.

As she holds her dagger in front of her face, the reflection of a skull can be seen in it. The way it is all framed it’s unclear if it is meant to symbolize her own mortality or the end result of what that dagger will accomplish. That’s what makes the piece by Francesco Mattina so captivating.
