Although players will spend plenty of time cruising through the neon streets of a cyberpunk city, dubbed Nivalis, they’ll often have the opportunity to step out of the car and explore the streets on foot.

Cloudpunkuses a unique voxel-based art style to create its mesmerizing 3D environments, andeach nook and cranny of Nivalis is a joy to explore, especially from the comfort of the hover car. Furthermore, the well-crafted setting, grounded characters, and excellent music provide an immersive atmosphere throughout.

This hardcore survival game features a focus on careful resource management, knowledge, and fighting against the elements. Players will have to contend with the cold, hungry predators, and the many other threats that the frozen wilderness can offer.

The Long Dark’s distinctive art style, well-realized winter environments, and well-crafted soundscape all synergize to create a breathtaking atmosphere that works perfectly in tandem with the brutal gameplay. There’s a steep learning curve that can take a lot of effort to push past, but the cold, winter atmosphere helps make it worth the time.
