Popular streamers are no different from regular gamers in the mistakes that they occasionally make, beyond the fact that they typically have live audiences who see when they mess up. During a recent Twitch streamer, one HardcoreMinecraftplayer lost a 4,317-day game because of one small mistake.
During a recent livestream, Twitch’s btecbill_ was gazing down upon a massive quarry that he had created during his game when one of his Twitch viewers asked whichMinecraftskin he was using. Unequipping his Netherite armor and Elytra wings to unveil his skin, btecbill_ called his Mankini-wearing cosmetic a “bad boy.” The popularMinecraftstreamer then began re-equipping his gear when he made a fatal mistake that cost him 4,317 days of HardcoreMinecraft.

When btecbill_ went to put his armor and Elytra back onto theMinecraftskinthat he showed off, the Twitch streamer forgot the importance of Elytra as he equipped a Netherite Chestplate instead. This simple mistake cost btecbill_ his HardcoreMinecraftlife because the Elytra have a powerful ability that lets players fly around the map after dropping from a great height. Expecting to float downward at a graceful pace, btecbill_ simply thought he re-equipped the similarly colored Elytra before he plummeted into his gigantic quarry.
Although btecbill_ seemingly realized his equipment mistake mid-fall, it was too late and the Twitch streamer was powerless to put on the correct gear. “Wait, wait! No, no!” said theunluckyMinecraftplayeras he lost thousands of days of progress to a simple mistake. The Twitch streamer stood up slightly from his chair in desperation before sitting back down and putting both hands to his face. Unable to reverse his mistake, btecbill_ began rubbing his face just beneath his eyes as he let out a very distressed “oh dear.”
According to btecbill_, the Twitch streamer intended to be done this HardcoreMinecraftplaythrough by around day 4,500 but it looks like that goal has been reset with his recent death. Prior to his fall, btecbill_ was self-congratulatory of his work on theMinecraftseed that he had been working on. Unlike mostMinecraftSurvival playthroughs, theHardcoreMinecraftrunsare locked to the hard difficulty and don’t allow players to respawn, forcing btecbill_ to start from the beginning again.
Twitch viewersare known for asking their favorite streamers questions about the games they’re playing, their personal lives, and more, but btecbill_ was seemingly not ready for the question about hisMinecraftskin. Because the Netherite Chestplate and Elytra are very similar in color, it’s easy to see how someone may mistake the two upon first glance, though btecbill_ may have double-checked before stepping off the edge of his quarry. It’s currently unclear if btecbill_ intends to make it to day 4,500 on a new HardcoreMinecraftserver or if he’ll abandon the idea as a result of his recent death.
