As if all that wasn’t enough, Xbox will be holding an additional extended showcase on June 13 which will offer closer looks and likely more gameplay of some of Xbox’s mosthighly anticipated titles such asAvowedandHellblade 2.Some of its smaller games and collaborations likeTowerborne, theMicrosoft Flight Simulator Duneexpansion, andThe Elder Scrolls Online: Necromwill also be present. Interestingly, the Extended show will also feature games from Xbox partners that weren’t at the main showcase.
ManyHellbladefans have been wanting to see what the sequel’s combat will look like. With this most recentHellblade 2trailer not featuring Senua in action, it’s possible that the extended showcase could finally provide fans a glimpse of the combat, but that’s just speculation at this time. As forAvowed, some fans came away from the gameplay reveal lukewarm on the visuals of the first-person fantasy RPG. Hopefully its deep dive at Extended will offer a better look at Obsidian’s in-progress title. It would also be nice to get to seeeven more fromFable, South of Midnight, andClockwork Revolutiuon, but these titles sadly won’t be making second appearances. Since those games seem to be further out, it looks like Xbox is giving more focus to the games which are closer to releasing, withHellblade 2andAvowednow stamped with 2024 release windows.
Following up an excellent showcase with even more gameplay from some of the big first party titles is a smart move, especially sinceStarfieldate up a lot of the spotlightwith its own 45-minute direct. As for what those other Xbox partnerships are that will show up at Extended, something like Avalanche’sContrabandor IO Interactive’s rumored Project Dragon fit the description, but these would’ve likely appeared at the main show, and Extended usually features smaller partners.
