Second Dinner’s Ben Brode offers details aboutMarvel Snap’s feature for selecting a favorite card variant, how it works, and that improvements are on the way. The variant system inMarvel Snapis a clever and rewarding idea, as players can collect both base versions of cards and variants, much like how Marvel comic books have variant cover art. Other than the art, the cards are exactly the same. It’s easy to get a lot of cards and variants, though, which is whyMarvel Snaphas a variant system.InMarvel Snap, players have access to around 230 cards. Each of these cards has multiple variants, with most having between four and six. If players select a card from their library, there’s an icon in the bottom left that looks like four cards arranged in a grid. Within this menu players see all of a card’s variants they have, and assigning a gold star to card makes it their favorite.Marvel Snapplayerscan then de-selected “All Variants” from their library’s search and filters functionality to only see their favorite cards.

ManyMarvel Snapplayers are likely completely unfamiliar with this feature, in part because it’s buried within several menus and doesn’t seem to do anything. As players grow their card library, however, using the system becomes much more efficient.Second Dinneris aware of how cumbersome it can be, though. Brode even confirms that an upcoming patch will make “big improvements” to this feature’s availability and straightforwardness.

It’s understandable why Second Dinner may be prioritizing improvements to this feature over some other improvements to the game. Variants aren’t just one ofMarvel Snap’s most interesting features, it’s also a key part ofMarvel Snap’s monetization. Players can purchase variants with Gold, the game’s premium currency, and there are some very cool-looking variants.

As for when the update will arrive, Brode doesn’t provide any specific information. If it’s targeted for an upcoming patch, it’s likely arriving in the relatively near feature, though. Brode likely brought the topic up on Twitter just so moreMarvel Snapplayers were aware the feature is currently available.
