After the confirmation of an Arachknight suit being available as apre-order bonusforMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, one fan of the game has come up with a brilliant idea that can make the suit even better. The pre-order bonus forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2comes with the standard Arachknight suit plus three different color variations.

Much like the first game,Spider-Man 2will feature a large collection of alternative suits for Peter Parker and Miles Morales, with many of them being references to characters found in the Spider-Verse. Out of all the different Spider-Men in the Spider-Verse, Arachknight is perhaps the fastest to amass such a cult following. Arachknight swung intoSpider-Mancomics as a part of the “Infinity Warps” saga, back in 2018. He’s a complicated character to explain to a non-comic book reader, as he’s from a pocket dimension inside Earth-616 that managed to get folded into a different dimension and into an alternative version of the dark character known as Moon Knight. Arachknight’s powers are identical to Peter Parker’s, except he has to deal with the same multiple-personality nightmare that plagues Moon Knight.

Arachknight has impressed manySpider-Manfansincluding Josi1999, who came up with the idea of using his cape as a way to glide around the city instead of the web wings that were introduced in the game’s debut trailer. With Arachknight’s cape fully extended while gliding, he would look even more like Batman than he already does.

Web wings may seem like a brand-new concept for newSpider-Manfans, but the idea of web wings has been around since the first appearance of the wall-crawler in 1962’sAmazing Fantasy #15. Over the decades, the web wings fell in and out of fashion for the character, eventually being dropped for good. In Tom Holland’sSpider-Man: Homecoming, the web wings made a surprising return, possibly being the inspiration for theirappearance inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In the comments for the Reddit post, many of the fans have pointed out how much Arachknight looks like Batman or a protagonist fromAssassin’s Creed. One commenter pointed out that the Spider-Man 2099 suit should have a web cape, just like in the comics. As far as gameplay is considered, the web wings were most likely added toSpider-Man 2due to the map being twice the sizeand to make up for all the new areas in the game that lack tall buildings to swing from. This will allow the player to crawl up a structure, then jump off and glide to their destination, similar to how Link uses his glider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Spider-Man 2launches October 20, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
