The Mendacious Visage is an optional boss that players don’t have to beat to keep exploringLords of the Fallen. It can be found in the Forsaken Fen, which is right after Pilgrim’s Perch. Do keep in mind that the Forsaken Fen becomes available after defeating the Congregator of Flesh boss.
Afterdefeating the Mendacious Visageboss inLords of the Fallen, lampbearers will be able to find it as a normal enemy in other locations. The boss’ location is a bit tricky since most players explore the areas in Axiom and tend to forget the alternative routes in Umbral.
Where To Find Mendacious Visage In Lords Of The Fallen
Mendacious Visage is found within the Umbral Realm inLords of the Fallen. Players need to travel to the Vestige of Valade in Forsaken Fen and head through the gate found inside the cave, which acts as a shortcut back to the large fire pit. Ignore the Shuja Warrior or defeat it, then use the Umbral Lamp and travel to the world of the dead. Keep in mind that since players are in the Umbral Realm, Remnants will spawn occasionally and attack lampbearers in addition to the normal enemies.
Jump down from the platform and go around the fire pit to find a wooden bridge. Cross it and keep going forward until a cave entrance appears. Go through it and descend the slope to findThe Iron WayfarerNPC inLords of the Fallen. Proceed forward and break the grass barrier to be ambushed by a Shuja Warrior inside a cave.
Defeat the enemy then head right to find a path blocked by a couple of Fetid Sacrifices. Continue walking out of the cave and avoid the Brogids as well as the three rolling spheres that are trying to attack players before hitting a wall.
Climb the slope to find more Brogids and even more rolling spheres. Deal with the Shuja Strider found up ahead andtry to dodge its Poison dartsto continue exploring.
Keep going up until a ladder appears. Push it to create a shortcut to reach the Mendacious Visage faster. Soulflay the obstacle and now players can enter the boss arena.
It is strongly recommended to explore while in the Umbral Realm since the path won’t appear in Axiom due to the high water level near The Iron Wayfarer location.
How To Beat The Mendacious Visage In Lords Of The Fallen
The Mendacious Visage is practically a giant stone face that moves around and kills its enemies with melee attacks. The boss attacks vary from jump, slam, and stomp. The most annoying part is probably theFrostbite hits since it will reduce players’ Stamina by half inLords of the Fallen. Try to find armor with decent resistance to survive as much as possible.
There are two methods to inflict damage on the Mendacious Visage; attack the boss from behind when it jumps/slams or wait for the boss to crack open his stone face and reveal a fragile being inside. In the latter case, get up and personal with the Mendacious Visage and attack the fragile core relentlessly while dodging swipe attacks. Repeat the same steps until the optional boss is defeated.
Another annoying factor about the Mendacious Visageboss fight inLords of the Fallenis the Shrouded Remnants using ranged attacks to distract players and cause more damage. The only way to avoid this problem is by Soulflaying two obstacles and removing the Umbral entity blocking the way.
