Summary

Update 1.1.203 forLords of the Fallenhas finally arrived, addressing a variety of problems including providing a fix to the frustrating performance issues. It’s been a good couple of months for players who are fans of challenging Soulsbourne titles asLies of Pand nowLords of the Fallenreleased fairly close to one another. In terms of the latter, Lords of the Fallen is actually a follow-up to a 2014 title of the same name, essentially serving as a proper reboot of the franchise.

The ambitious title released to positive reviews from critics and players alike, though various issues started popping up after launch. Hexworks got to work by issuing updates including one which actively madeLords of the Fallena bit more challenging. Two bosses in particular were proving to be a bit too easy, so patch v.1.1.191 ended up tuning Spurned Progeny and a few secret bosses in the Umbral Realm to be more challenging with the actual notes calling them more “dangerous adversaries” and less susceptible to glitching and pathing issues during the fight. Additional fixes are now here thanks to the latest update from Hexworks.

Update 1.1.203 has finally arrived forLords of the Fallenand according to the blog post from Hexworks, the studios bug kill count has now reached its highest to date thanks to the continued feedback from players. Stability and performance was a big focus of this patch, with numerous crashes, both common and rare, being fixed. The update also reworked some UI elements, adjusted Soulflay texture sizes, and reduced memory allocation for environment interaction to improve the game’s performance and free up additional megabytes of memory.

In addition, the latest update also provides a number of gameplay and balance tweaks especially when it comes to New Game+ bosses being too aggressive. Player behavior during NPC interactions has also been improved to prevent potential “weird orientations” andLord of the Fallen’s strange shopkeeper Molhuhas reduced the price of his seeds from 2,500 vigor to 1,200 vigor from his residence on the Umbral side of Skyrest Bridge.

The latest patch should please a lot of players, especially those running into the performance related problems. Fans are also hoping this patch doesn’t come with any unintended side effects like a recent update which forcedHexworks to temporarily disable crossplay withinLords of the Fallenafter it received player feedback regarding a drop in game performance. Things got so bad that Hexworks also has to turn to Redpoint and Epic for help in tracking down the issues, likely resulting in a number of fixes that were made in today’s update.
