The P-Organ system inLies of Pis something special. It’s an interesting concept that makes every unit of Quartz that players put into it feel like a noticeable improvement. Not only are major new abilities unlocked when Pinocchio fills all the slots on an Upgrade, but each slot that they fill is another ability of some sort that enhances Pinocchio in some way.

In the default game, the P-Organ has 5 different ‘Phases’ that function as Tiers. As players fill and fully unlock more Upgrades, more Phases will become available to them. Additionally, with every new Phase unlocked a new tier of abilities is unlocked for players to slot into those Upgrades. So, let’s go over all the Upgrades and abilities players can mess around with inLies of P.

This guide doesn’t cover Tier 6 and 7 Abilities, but it does cover Phase 6 and Phase 7 Upgrades. We’ll be updating this with Tier 6 and 7 ability descriptionsas soon as we reach NG++.

Lies of P - P Organ Closeup

All P-Organ Upgrades

First up, let’s go over every single Phase of the P-Organ Upgrade Tree. Some of the descriptions of these Upgrades are a bit unclear in-game, so explanations have been added as needed to ensure players know what they’re investing in beforehand. As players advance up the P-Organ Phases, they’ll slowly need to start spendingmore and more hard-earned Quartzto fully unlock each Upgrade. Thankfully, with more Quartz slots comes more abilities to slot in as well, so it’s not all bad. In any case, here’s all the P-Organ Upgrades:

2

Increase the maximum number of Pulse Cell uses

Increase the time of the enemy’s Staggerable status

While activated, the enemy has that white bar (Staggerable indicator) around their HP bar for longer before it fades away.

Enables another dodge in the middle of a dodge motion

If players press dodge during a dodge animation, they’ll roll as an additional dodge with more i-frames.

Increases the maximum number of charged Fable slots

Increases the number of equippable Amulet slots

Enables dodging when on the ground

When knocked onto the ground, players can press dodge to quickly roll backward and get up faster while also creating distance.

Retains a certain amount of Guard Regain when receiving damage

Players lose less temporary health while Guarding (AKA less Guard Regain is generated).

3

Enhances the recovery effect of Pulse Cells

Increases the maximum number of Cube uses

Similar to Pulse Cell increases, this increases the number of times Pinocchio can use the Cube per reset by +1.

Increases the number of equippable Belt slots

Increases the number of equip slots on both belts by +1.

Shortens the Gold Coin Tree’s fruit-bearing time

By default the Fruit Bearing Time of the Gold Coin Fruit Tree is 10 minutes, this upgrade reduces that wait period.

Breaks the enemy’s stance when a Perfect Guard is successful

When Perfect Guards are successful, players have a chance to cause the enemy to ‘recoil’ from the Perfect Guard, interrupting their chain of attacks.

Increases the maximum number of Special Grindstone uses

Increases the number of times Pinocchio can use the Special Grindstone per reset by +1.

4

Increases the number of equippable Legion Arm slots

Increases the number of Legion Arms Pinocchio can have equippedat one time by +1.

Increases the time of the enemy’s Staggerable status

Increase the maximum number of Cube uses

Similar to Pulse Cell increases, this increases the number of times players can use the Cube per reset by +1.

Increases the number of equippable Weapon slots

Pulse Cells now recover more of Pinocchio’s HP per usage. At 30 Vitality and with all Pulse Cell Recovery Upgrades, this can almost entirely refill the HP bar.

Phase 6

Some of Weapon Durability is restored when a Perfect Guard is successful

Pinocchio will now regain Durability for every Perfect Guard, though the effect is relatively minimal.

You feel lighter (severe Weight reduction)

The description is a bit unclear but this essentially ‘moves’ the weight percentage requirements for the Lightweight, Default, Slightly Heavy, and Heavy modifiers by around 20 percent. Heavy is now at 100 percent, slightly heavy is now at 80, and lightweight is the new standard weight.

Increases the number of Legion Arms Pinocchio can have equipped at one time by +1.

Can block Fury Attacks with Guard

Gives Pinocchio the ability to block Fury Attacks with default Guard. When usedalongside the Ghost Walk Amulet, Pinocchio can now dodge and block Fury Attacks.

All Abilities That Slot Into P-Organ Upgrade Slots

When players spend Quartz in the P-Organ menu, they’re ‘using’ that Quartz to slot an ability in one of the open slots of their Upgrade of choice. When all those slots are filled by Quartz-powered abilities, then the Upgrade is fully activated and enabled.

Each P-Organ Upgrade can have, at max, one ability of each ‘type’ (Attack, Survival, Ability, Item) slotted into it.

That said, some of these abilities are just as good or even better than some of the full-on Upgrades, so players will want to pay extra close attention to which abilities they’re choosing.

Attack-Type Abilities

First up are the Attack-type abilities. These are the abilities that typically either increase the raw power of something or the amount of stagger damage a certain weapon/tool of Pinocchio’s can inflict. These are the abilities players will want to choose if they want more raw output rather than more survivability, resources, or items.

1

Attack

Enhances the Stagger attack power of dodge attacks and dash attacks.

Increases Destruction Damage to enemy weapons when a Perfect Guard is successful.

Enhances Legion Arm attack power when more than half of the Legion remains.

Reduces the amount of the enemy’s natural HP recovery when attacking them with a weapon.

5

Enhance the attack power of Fatal Attacks.

Survival-Type Abilities

Next up are the Survival-type abilities. These, for all intents and purposes, are the Defense abilities to the Attack-type Offense abilities. A common pattern among these abilities are effects that cause Pinocchio to lose less health from Guard Regain, lower the damage they take during certain actions, or increase their resistance to certain types of damage. If players are finding themselves running out of Pulse Cells or HP before they can really evenget attacks in during a difficult boss fight, they may want to slot some Survival abilities into their P-Organ.

Survival

Lowers the damage received during Charge Attack and when using Fable Arts.

Recovers some of Guard Regain as HP when a Perfect Guard is successful.

Enhances Guard Regain recovery when attacking enemies.

Ability-Type Abilities

For the third category of abilities, it’s the, well, Ability-type abilities. These are the abilities that reduce the amount of resources Pinocchio uses to complete certain actions. In general, these abilities influence the amount of Stamina players use for certain attacks, the amount of Legion used (or regained) by certain actions, or the amount of a resource that’s generated from things like Perfect Guards. It’s the best type of ability to invest in when players often find themselves out of Legion, Fable, or Stamina right when they need it most.

Ability

Charges a certain amount of Legion when an enemy is eliminated.

Lowers the Legion consumption of Legion Arms when HP is low.

Lowers the Weapon Durability reduction of Dodge attacks and Dash attacks.

Lowers the Stamina consumption of all actions when Pulse Cells are discharged.

Increases the Grinder’s Weapon Durability recovery speed.

Item-Type Abilities

Last up at the Item-Type abilities. And, as one would expect, these are the abilities that influence both the amount of items Pinocchio can hold at once as well as the amount of ‘resources’ they’ll gather. For example, if players want to gain more Ergo per enemy defeated, this is absolutely the category of abilities to invest Quartz into. However, it’s not just more Ergo, this tree of abilities alsoencourages the use of throwing items, consumables, resource recovery itemslike Legion Magazines or Fable Catalysts, and more.

Item

Lowers the Ergo loss from hitswhen there is Death Ergo to recover.

Increases the maximum amount of Gold Coin Fruit on the Gold Coin Tree.

Lowers the Ergo loss from hits when there is Death Ergo to recover.
