Amongst these many retrospectives, the popular YouTube channel Kinda Funny is putting a unique spin on its tribute to the PS4 by inviting fans to rank the console’s many exclusives.
Following its initial cancellation in 2017, Kinda Funny re-introduced its PlayStation-based podcastP.S. I Love You XOXOin 2020. While the revival covered some of thePS4’s last exclusives,such asThe Last of Us Part IIandGhost of Tsushima,P.S. I Love You XOXOtook the opportunity to look back on the games released in its absence.
Before the July 21 episode, hostsBlessing Adeoye Jr. and Greg Miller shared a tournament bracket on social media. Pitting the currently available 72PS4exclusives against, the two hosts compared each game to determine which games would advance further in the competition. After narrowing down the candidates for the best exclusive between 2018’sGod of WarandThe Last of Us Part II.

However, Miller ultimately championedGod of Waras the best exclusive because of its satisfying gameplay, interaction with its characters, moving narrative, and valuablecharacter development for its protagonist, Kratos.Admitting thatGod of Warwas a personal favorite, Miller also cited the fact that hewould recommend it to someone who was picking up a PS4 for the first time. Adeoye concurred, calling the game “a clean experience… from beginning to end,” and a triumph reinvention of Kratos and theGod of Warfranchise as a whole. Both hosts praised the game’s mechanics as a perfect execution of the developers' vision. Approximately 66% of fans tuning in on the live broadcast also voted forGod of Warfor the best exclusive.
In response, many fans took the blank bracket and made tournaments of their own. Several Twitter users concluded with similar finalists, and while some crownedThe Last of Us Part IIas their best PS4 exclusives, otherspicked different titles entirely, likePersona 5andAstro Bot: Rescue Mission.No matter which exclusive won, it’s clear that every game on this list will hold a fond place in someone’s mind.
