Invinciblecomes from the mind of Robert Kirkman, a comic book writer who has created many beloved properties that have seen a leap from the illustrated page to the small screen. It’s a series about superheroes that focuses on the young Mark Grayson, the son of Nolan Grayson, a.k.a. Omni-Man, as he takes up the titular superhero name, Invincible. In the show, the masterful J.K. Simmons gives Nolan life with his voice and brilliant acting. Mark discovers he has abilities just like his dad, thanks to their alien DNA. Similar to Superman, Invincible is capable of flying at great speeds, superhuman strength, and durability. When Omni-Man reveals his nefarious intentions on Earth, it leads to a violent and emotional falling out between him and his son.

Invincible and Omni-Man aren’t the only superpowered individuals on Earth. Funded and organized by the U.S. government is the Guardians of the Globe. The first iteration of the team perishes at the hands of Omni-Man, proving that he’s the most powerful individual on the planet. However, being powerful isn’t only about super strength. Someone in the world ofInvinciblewho exhibitsextraordinary abilities is Atom Eve, and she might have the ability to defend Earth against Omni-Man and the Viltrum Empire on her own.

Atom Eve’s Powers, Explained

While it might look like pretty pink lights, or something similar to whatGreen Lantern can do with his ring, Samantha Eve Wilkins’s pink energy does so much more than put on a nice show for people to gawk at. Atom Eve manipulates organic and inorganic material at a molecular level, giving her full control of her surroundings. She can transmute a fork into a bar of gold if she wishes. Her ability to fly comes from lowering the density of the air molecules around her, while the apparent telekinesis she wields also comes from manipulating nearby molecules.

Thanks to theInvincible: Atom Evespecial, fans got a look at the tragic origins of Samantha and her powers. Betsy Wilkins didn’t give birth to Samantha. Rather, she was born to a woman named Polly, who gave birth to Samantha while fleeing the government. The government sought to create the ultimate superhero in a project overseen by a Dr. Elias Brandyworth. It was Dr. Brandyworth who helped Polly escape his laboratory, allowing her to swap the newly born super-powered baby with the Wilkins' stillborn baby, denying the government the ability to duplicate the results. However, that didn’t stop them from trying.

Invincible Omni-Man Flying

Even in her infancy, Samantha could see all of the molecules around her. It wasn’t until she was a teenager that she learned to manipulate them as she pleased, prompting her to use her powers to fight crime. Unfortunately, this caught the government’s attention. In the years since Elias and Polly escaped, the government attempted to duplicatetheir success, but to no avail. The new creations the government sent to bring in Samantha perished one by one due to their unstable nature.

An eventual fight led to the death of Dr. Brandyworth and Polly, which triggered a boost in powers from Samantha. This boost gave her the ability to erase the minds of the government, making them forget they ever created her.

How Strong is Omni-Man?

When it comes to brute strength, nobody on Earth isas strong as Omni-Man. Not even the titular hero can match his dad in a one-on-one battle, as seen by the first season’s finale. The force of a single punch from Omni-Man sent a shockwave through the air that shattered skyscrapers. When his strength is used in conjunction with his speed, Omni-Man can destroy an entire planet. There’s nearly no match for him on Earth. However, even against other Viltrumites, he’s a power that shouldn’t be reckoned with.

In season two’s fourth episode, Omni-Man takes on two or three Viltrumites simultaneously. They give him a run for his money, but he comes out on top. It’s only after Lucan, aViltrumite defeated by Omni-Manearlier in the episode, reveals himself not to be dead that he is able to get the upper hand and break Omni-Man’s spine. Had Omni-Man known Lucan wasn’t out for the count, he wouldn’t have been defeated.

Could Atom Eve Beat Omni-Man One-on-One?

There’s no denying that Omni-Man and his fellow Viltrumites are powerful beings in the galaxy. They’re fast and strong and show little remorse for those they subjugate. While Mark Grayson may be the hero of theInvincibleseries, he’s going to need Samantha when he inevitably goes against them. However, if Atom Eve and Omni-Man ever fought one-on-one, Eve wouldn’t struggle as much as Mark did.

On paper and at full power, Atom Eve wins every time. She’sInvincible’sversion of Doctor Manhattan, who can put himself back together after being torn apart on a subatomic level. Omni-Man simply has brute strength on his side. TheAtom Evespecial showed that she can transmute organic and inorganic material along with erasing memories, giving her the ability to make Omni-Man forget he’s a Viltrumite altogether. There are a number of ways Samantha could defeat Omni-Man, from pulling him apart atom by atom to erasing his memory.

However, if Omni-Man was able to catch Samantha by surprise, then there are no doubts that he would win the fight.
