Hunter x Hunteris currently in its 9th story arc, named the Succession Contest Arc, which started back with chapter 349 in the manga and is currently still ongoing. With Yoshihiro Togashi taking a break again after the conclusion of chapter 400 a few months back, it’s unknown whenHunter x Hunterwill return, but it shouldn’t be too long, just like previous hiatuses.

The Kakin Princes are a group of royals greatly expanded on in the current arc. They are powerful and diverse, with each sibling being completely different from the others and all of them possessing a nen beast. However, they’re not all equal, with some being significantly stronger than others,be it nen abilities, raw strength, or political power.
5Zhang Lei Hui Guo Rou
Zhang Lei Hui Guo Rou is one the eldest Princes of the Kakin Empire, the third eldest, to be specific. Zhang Lei is quite the diplomatic man and believes that he would be a great fit to become King. As such, he has many ties, most importantly to the Xi-Yu family, one of the three main mafia families. His biggest strength comes from his diplomacy and while he comes off as kind, he can also ally himself with criminals with no problem.
Along with all that, he still possesses a guardian nen beast like the rest of his siblings. However, it seems to be the least threatening one, though its full abilities remain unclear for now. He believes his beast’s powers will only come of use after he becomes King. The ability he has is of the Conjuration type and entails that whoever possesses its coin and completes its conditions will receive abilities afterwards.
4Halkenburg Hui Guo Rou
One of the forgotten Princes from the Kakin Empire, Halkenburg Hui Guo Rou, is still powerful in his own regard. Unlike most of his siblings, he is not interested in winning the crown – on the contrary, he wants to stop the Succession War as he is a pacifist and doesn’t want his siblings to die killing each other. This was seen when he was extremely saddened by the death of Prince Momoze and offered her a silent prayer.
His high intelligence aside, he also possesses a strong nen ability called Possession Arrow. When his subordinates are wearing the Guardian Spirit Beast’s mask, he can extract their auras and use them to wield arrows. These arrows are extremely powerful and can pierce through the enemies' defenses with ease. He also makes use of his nen beast’s ability, making him a powerful contender to his other siblings.
3Benjamin Hui Guo Rou
Perhaps the most powerful of the bunch, Benjamin Hui Guo Rou is the eldest Prince and a warrior with an extensive military background. He is very authoritative and aggressive, but still commands his troops with respect.

His ability is called Benjamin Baton, and whileits type is currently unknown, it seems to be quite a powerful power to possess. This ability allows him to inherit the nen abilities of deceased subordinates who had previously graduated from Kakin’s Royal Military Army and were on his private team. The abilities of these nen users manifest as stars on the palm of his hands, which he can then use. He also possesses a Guardian Spirit Beast, however, its abilities remain unknown for now.
2Camilla Hui Guo Rou
Camilla Hui Guo Rou is the second Prince of the Kakin Empire and a big contender for the throne. Confident in her abilities, she is a charming and beautiful woman who does not fear her brothers and will do anything to achieve her goals, even killing her siblings in sadistic ways.
Not only is she elegant, but she is also very powerful. Her main ability is called Cat’s Name, and it only activates after she dies. When she’s killed, a large cat nen beast appears and murders Camilla’s killer before sucking their life force to heal and revive her. This makes Camilla almost impossible to truly kill. Besides that, she is also a great marksman, able to get in a headshot quickly and efficiently when she wants.
1Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou
Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou is perhaps the most important of all Princes when it comes to storytelling, and a great contender to becoming a big antagonist in the series. He is, perhaps, the one most likely to sit on the throne and succeed his father. Tserriednich is an extremely intelligent man with knowledge on many topics. But, that aside, he has a very sinister personality, and is even happy to have the opportunity to kill his siblings.
Tserriednich is described as a nen prodigy. He was able to learn nen in no time and with each passing day, he only gets stronger and stronger. His nen is of the Specialization type, named “Parallel Future,” which grants him a peek into the future. This, alongside, his nen beast makes him the most powerful out of his siblings.
