Summary
There are lots of great weapons inFallout 76. From rocket launchers to switchblades, there’s something to suit all preferences and playstyles. That said, there are a handful of weapons that stand head and shoulders above the rest. One of those weapons is The Fixer. The Fixer is often seen as one ofthe best weapons in the whole game.
With the right perks, rolls, and consumables, The Fixer can be an almost unstoppable weapon that can take down some of the toughest enemies in the game with relative ease. From its versatility to its range, there are several reasons why Fixers are worth using inFallout 76.

1Legendary Effects
Certain Legendary Effects Make The Fixer Shine
The key to any good weapon is good legendary effects. There are a handful oflegendary effectsthat players typically look for on Fixers. When it comes to the main legendary effects, the ones to keep an eye out for are:
For the most part, players tend to prefer the quad effect over the other three. However, the other three effects are still very powerful and are highly sought-after. As for secondary effects, there are three that players usually look for:

While all three effects are great, the Vital and Explosive effects are the ones that players normally look for. That’s because The Fixer already has a pretty fast fire rate if it has been modified to be an automatic rifle. As for the final effects, the best ones are:
Out of those effects, players typically prefer V.A.T.S. Optimized. This is because V.A.T.S. allows players to perform critical hits, which do considerably more damage when compared to firing outside V.A.T.S.

2Versatility
Great For Most Build Types
The Fixer can be adapted to suit most ranged playstyles. There are lots of mods that can be applied to this weapon, such as turning it from a single-shot weapon toan automatic rifle. While it may take some time for players to find the best modification combination to suit their tastes, The Fixer slots in nicely with lots of different builds.
Not only that, but in combat, The Fixer works great in both close-range and long-range situations, so the player is unlikely to ever get caught short during a firefight.

3Stealth Bonuses
Ideal For Sneak Attacks
Unlike a lot of other ranged weapons inFallout 76,The Fixer has a couple of default effects that make itgreat for stealth builds. By using The Fixer, the player will receive improved stealth in shadows and an increased movement speed while sneaking.
Players inflict more damage if they hit a target while hidden, so The Fixer can help players do lots of extra sneak-based damage. While in sneak mode, players move considerably slower, but the boost to movement speed allows players to sneak away from situations much faster than normal.

4High Damage
Knock Down Enemies Quickly
While it’s not the mostpowerful automatic weaponinFallout 76,it does rank fairly high. The Fixer does a decent amount of damage per shot without the player using any perks or legendary effects. A standard level 50 Fixer can do close to 50 points of damage per shot. While this may not sound too great, that is without using any mods, effects, or perks. With the right setup, The Fixer can cause well over 100 points of damage per shot.
Using The Fixer as a single-shot rifle will do more damage per shot, but this weapon is best used as an automatic weapon. Its natural fast rate of fire will cause less damage per shot, but more damage per second.

5Good Both In And Out Of V.A.T.S.
The Best Of Both Worlds
While The Fixer does have more recoil when compared to weapons like the Handmade, with the right mods, the recoil can be tamed, making the weapon pretty decent outside V.A.T.S.
Not everybody enjoys using V.A.T.S. Some players enjoy firing from the hip or aiming down a barrel. For those people, The Fixer does a great job at taking down enemies without the need for V.A.T.S. However,V.A.T.S. is where this weapon really shines. If the player can get hold of a Fixer with the Vital effect, then they can do incredible amounts of damage inside V.A.T.S.

6A Choice Of Ammo
The Fixer Has Two Options For Ammo
The standard ammo for The Fixer is .45 rounds. However, the weapon can be modified at a weapons workbench to use .38 rounds. This is great for players who don’t have a lot of resources.
Whileammo is typically easy to come by, lower-level players may find gathering large amounts of ammo rather tricky..38 rounds are considerably cheaper than .45 rounds,so players who have a Cap shortage or are low on resources can switch to using .38 rounds. That said, The Fixer works best with a .45 round magazine. But for those who don’t mind losing a little bit of damage per shot, .38 rounds can be very beneficial.
