Although the game starts out fairly easy,Final Fantasy 16features plenty of challenging enemies, some of which can tear through Clive’s HP pretty quickly if players aren’t careful. One way that they can seek to mitigate damage is by improving the playable protagonist’s gear, with the game providing two main options when it comes tostrengthening Clive’s defenses: Vambraces and Belts.
Players will be able to find and craft a wide range of Belts inFinal Fantasy 16to boost their Defense stat and increase their HP. Reinforcing them at The Black Hammer can make them even stronger, too, but it’s important to note that not every belt inFinal Fantasy 16can be upgraded. A lot of them can though, and this guide will explain how to find allFF16Belts as well as the materials needed to upgrade them where possible.

Updated May 31, 2025, by Tom Bowen:This guide has been updated to include all of the FF16 belts introduced via the game’s DLC expansions, with information on how to get them and where to find the crafting materials needed to reinforce them.
