InHorizon Forbidden West, players will have to divvy up their earned Skill Points to unlock new skills from the six different skill trees. There are skills more geared towards melee attacks, some focused on healing/survival, and ones all about overriding machines. While there are somevery helpful skills that players should invest their Skill Points in early on, it’s really up to the player to decide what type of Aloy they want to build.
One of the main ways players earn Skill Points inHorizon Forbidden Westis by gaining XP to increase Aloy’s level. XP is gained in many ways, including defeating machines/humans, completing side activities like errands, and following the main story missions. Whatever it is that players are doing, they are bound to uncover some extra XP doing it –players will constantly level up as they tick off all the icons on the world map. Max Level in Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West’s max level is 50. Once players make it to the final level for Aloy, they will no longer gain any XP, whetherfrom fighting machines to doing side missions. Of course, players can still clean up the map and partake in any activities, but they will only get Skill Points and items –the XP bar will not progress any further. However, since players don’t gain extra power from leveling up (only increased maximum health and skill points), they can still optimize their build to have Aloy as powerful as possible, even at the level cap.
Horizon Forbidden Westplayers are currently unable to respec their spent skill points, so once a skill is unlocked, there’s no way to re-do the action and get the skill points back. Be cautious when choosing which skill trees to invest points into.
It’s worth mentioning that the max level forHorizon Zero Dawnwas also 50, but the level cap was increased to 60 with the release of The Frozen Wilds expansion, released in late 2017. There could be a chance that the level cap forHorizon Forbidden Westgets a boost, but that depends if Guerrilla Games decides to release post-launch DLC. With many PlayStation exclusives receiving DLC these days, this game will likely join the club, too, especially sinceHorizon Forbidden Westhas received highly favorable reviews from critics.
