Valentine’s Day is coming to the world ofHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery,a mobile game developed by Jam City and launched by Portkey Games in which players can create their own character and become a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Beginning on February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day,Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterywill introduce a sidequest storyline that gives players the opportunity to go on a romantic date with their in-game crush. For this limited time event, students who have reached Year 5 Chapter 3 in the game will be able to choose between five Hogwarts students to romance: Penny, Andre, Merula, Barnaby, and Talbott. Andre, the resident fashion expert, will be on hand to help players select the perfect outfit for their romantic date.

This special event will also introduce a storyline featuring Gilderoy Lockhart, who requests the player’s help in planning aValentine’s Daybonanza. Additionally, a series of holiday-related events and bundles will award players with Valentine’s Day themed outfits, hairstyles, makeup, and even a kitten Kneazle. Sarah Wolf, the game director at Jam City, explained, “The excitement of friendship turning into something more is part of student life and we’re excited to launch this romantic sidequest for players to have the chance to connect with their crush in the game. It’s something our players love.”
To further add to the excitement of the Valentine’s Day event, the second season ofQuidditchalso begins in February, and players will have the chance to try out for the position of Beater on the team. All students who have progressed to at least Year 2 Chapter 6 in the game can take part in the sport, honing their skills in practice games, known as Quidditch Friendlies, and participating in full-on Quidditch Cup matches. As the seasons advance, players will unlock new moves, special brooms,Hogwarts house-themed face paint, and Quidditch uniforms.
Inspired byJ.K. Rowling’s original stories,Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterygives players the opportunity to progress through all seven years of schooling at Hogwarts. They will go through sorting in Year 1, become a prefect in Year 5, and attend classes to learn flying, spells and charms, potion brewing, and all the other secrets a skilled witch or wizard must know.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryalso features an avatar creation system so that players can customize their own in-game character and select their hairstyle, hair color, and even the casual outfits they will wear outside of class. At the center of it all, as the player forms friendships, rivalries, and now even romances with fellow students at the school, there will also be a slowly unfolding mystery to solve.
