Rockstar is a leader in the gaming industry thanks to its stable of bestselling franchises, includingGrand Theft Auto, as they give the company plenty of bragging rights. Recently, a leaked image emerged of the studio’s 25th anniversary logo, and the image features plenty of references to some old Rockstar games, making it fun for fans to try and dissect.
One aspect of the logo has caused a stir amongGrand Theft Autofans, and it has also led to speculation regarding the next chapter of the franchise. Specifically, a car appears in the leaked anniversary photo that resembles a vehicle which has been seen in all the series' games sinceGTA 3, the Banshee, though it sports a slightly different design. This raises questions surrounding whether it’s an early look at the newest version of the car, which would naturally appear inGTA 6.
Does The Rockstar Anniversary Logo Feature a GTA 6 Vehicle?
There are several references to past Rockstar games in the intricate silver logo, including John Marston andArthur Morgan’s hats from theRed Dead Redemptionfranchise. There’s a paddle fromRockstar Games Presents Table Tennis, and the loading screen girl fromGrand Theft Auto 5, just to name a few more references.
What’s caught the eye ofGTAfans is the car in the bottom right corner, as though it’s technically a car that has never been seen in the games before, leading to speculation that it might be abrand-new car forGTA 6, it does certainly look as if it could be a new design for the Banshee.
Theleaked Rockstar logois certainly a pretty one, but it is unlikely to be permanent. Instead, it could be the case that it exists purely to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary, so there’s no reason to say goodbye to the old logo just yet.
The History of the Banshee in GTA
As the name of the franchise would suggest, there are plenty of cars to steal in theGrand Theft Autogames. For speed, it has traditionally been theBanshee that is one of the fastestGTAcars available. It resembles a Dodge Viper or a Corvette C4, and it has appeared in every game sinceGTA 3. Notably, inGTA: Liberty City Stories, Salvatore Leone buys a Banshee to impress Maria Latore, and Leon McAffrey’s blue Banshee is seen in several cutscenes.
Despite its speed, it does have a few drawbacks. Firstly, it is hard to handle, and it’s not uncommon to spin out when driving at high speeds. Secondly, it is a fragile car, and it doesn’t take much damage before it is up in flames. It’s good for some joyriding, but chaotic drivers shouldn’t expect it to last long if they plan on crashing their way through traffic.
Will the Banshee Show Up in GTA 6?
At this point, there’s no reason to believe that the vehicle won’t appear inGTA 6. It would break a long tradition if it did not, though it is likely the car will feature a few changes, as has been the case in everynewGTAtitle. Rockstar is quite fond of leaving Easter eggs in its games, and apparently its logos, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that this logo leak has given fans a sneak peek at an upcoming vehicle.
There’s still a long time to wait before the release ofGTA 6, as the game currently has a 2025 release date. At present, all Rockstar has presented is a trailer showcasing the protagonists and where players will be causing havoc, that being Leonida, the state that contains Vice City. What appears to be two new protagonists also get some screen time, with one of them being female. Players will have to wait for thenextGTA 6trailerto discover what to expect from the billion-dollar gaming franchise, but another appearance of the Banshee does seem likely, regardless of whether the car seen in this logo really is an early look at the latest iteration.
