One of the most notable features inGrand Theft Auto Onlineis the car customization. With the arrival of new consoles, Rockstar Games is looking to further car customization by taking advantage of the current-gen hardware.

Grand Theft Auto Onlineoffers a myriad of cars with a variety of customization options. Some cars are quick and nimble, while others are militarized war machines, and Rockstar wants to give players a way to make their cars even faster.

In a community update, Rockstar announced theincoming update toGTA Online, which the studio said will include a brand-new auto shop called Hao’s Special Works. This auto shop gives players the ability to upgrade their car’s speed for “elite driving performance that takes full advantage of the upgraded power of new console hardware.” Players will only be able to upgrade a selection of ten cars at launch – five existing vehicles and five new ones – with more coming later. Rockstar states that players can find Hao’s Special Works at the LS Car Meet.

Cars inGTA Onlineare highly-customizable, especially after the latestContractexpansion. For example, a player can paint the Weeny Dynasty yellow, add a sign on the roof of it, and turn the car into a taxi - though it will not function as one. Some cars such as the Schlagen GT offer 86 customization options, including both performance and appearance, only at $1.3 million dollars, a modest price by the game’s standards. As a whole,GTA Onlinehas so many options for players in both car selection and customization that each player can create their own unique car, and Rockstar is going to let them make their cars drive faster than ever before.

However, Hao’s Special Works will be exclusive to PC and next-gen players. As the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S shortages continue, players on last-gen hardware will have to wait before getting their hands on the current-genGTA Onlineexperience.

Players who are able to access it on the latest hardware can enjoy the upcoming update to its fullest extent. The update toGTA Onlinehas a fair number of improvements including PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics modes that allow up to 4K resolution, up to 60FPS, improved textures and draw distances, faster loading times, and even HDR and ray-tracing. Whilethe idea of a new entry to theGTAseries loomsover fans' heads, Rockstar still wants to keepGTA Onlinegoing for as long as possible.

GTA Onlineis now available on PC, Ps4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will release on March 15.
