Genshin Impact’s most recent Mondstadt video could be teasing some of HoYoverse’s upcoming content. Mondstadt is the only region that was part of the game since its release back in September 2020.
At the start of theirGenshin Impactjourney, each player had to find their way to the main city of Mondstadt where they meet a number of memorable characters like Amber, Lisa, Keaya, and Jean. While the new major regions have a much higher quality in terms of content, Mondstadt still remains the favorite location for most players since it’s the first place they were introduced to in their journey to the world of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact’s official YouTube channel has posted a video named “Scenery and Sentiment: Mondstadt Edition” showing the beauty of the Anemo nation. This might be HoYoverse’s way of showing fans the quality they can expect in theupcomingGenshin Impactanimewhich will be done in collaboration with Ufotable, the animation studio responsible for popular series likeDemon SlayerorFate. The majority of the fan base was surprised by the release of the video considering that the main spotlight is on the new Sumeru region at the moment.
The video perfectly depicts the spirit of the Mondstadt, showing all of its iconic locations from the main city and the Dawn Winery, to dangerous Hilichurl camps. A number of comments claim that they would love it if the upcoming anime featured the same art style as the one shown in the video. Even though the video is probably not related to the anime, recentGenshin Impactleakshave revealed that the plot of the first couple of episodes will be located in the Mondstadt region.
This makes sense considering that the project has been in development for 18 months, meaning that Inazuma and Sumeru were not a part of the game at the start of the project. The timeline will apparently feature the world before the arrival of the main characters, Lumine and Aether. The Mondstadt region is still not completely unlockedwhich means that the video could also be teasing a new map expansion in the foreseeable future.
CredibleGenshin Impactleakers have revealed thecurrent version of Mondstadtis only 60% of the full region and players hope that HoYoverse implements the same approach to world design that they used in the recently added Sumeru region. However, according to the majority of the fan base, this nation does not do a very good job of representing its symbolic Anemo element, unlike the other more recently released landmasses.
Genshin Impactis now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
