AGenshin Impactplayer shows the first speculative map of the upcoming Fontaine region which is expected to arrive in the next major update. The game’s main continent, Teyvat, consists of seven different main regions. So far, HoYoverse has introduced only four of these nations: Mondstadt, Inazuma, Liyue, and the recently added Sumeru region.

Genshin Impact’s Sumeru arc is slowly coming to an end which means that it’s time for a new major region to join the game. One of the game’s earliest story teasers has confirmed that Fontaine, also known as the Hydro nation, will be the 5th region to become part of Teyvat’s explorable terrain.

A new post on theGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit reveals the first speculative map of Fontaine. This map was done based on the updated terrain model that was added in thecurrentGenshin Impactversion 3.6. The ongoing update has added two new parts of the Sumeru desert which are expected to be the Dendro nation’s last two expansions, at least for the foreseeable future. These regions are expected to border with Fontaine which is why HoYoverse decided to update the placeholder model for the terrain that can be seen, but not accessed from Sumeru’s newly added deserts. While many fans agree that Fontaine will look much different once update 4.0 arrives, others claim that the model could share some similarities with the final version of the next major region.

According to the updated map, Fontaine will be filled with rivers and lakes which makes sense considering that the region’s representative element is Hydro. There is not a lot of confirmed information about this nation other than that it’s home to the Hydro Archon known as Focalors.PreviousGenshin Impactleakshave been hinting that Fontaine’s main city will apparently be attached to a vertical platform and surrounded by waterfalls.

When it comes to playable characters, numerous leaks have already revealed the models of10 different Genshin Impact charactersthat will be tied to this region. Fontaine won’t be the only significant map addition in the upcoming months as rumors claim that the game’s first two regions, Mondstadt and Liyue, could also soon receive an expansion.
