With the game’s playable roster constantly expanding, every new update has been featuring a double banner that includes two five-star characters and three units for the four-star lineup.
WhileGenshin Impact’s five-star characters are usually much stronger than four-stars, this imbalance of power is compensated by the fact that lower-rarity characters are much easier to obtain due to lower pity. This allows players to build up their constellation levels much easier compared to five-stars.

A Reddit user PomegranateStill5636 has shared an interesting chart that shows the complete banner revenue for the previous Yae Miko and Yoimiya double banner. According to the chart, the banner is placed on the 42th spot which many fans think is pretty underwhelming considering that it features two popular characters who are considered S-tier picks in the respective roles. There are probably multiple reasons behind the banner’s poor performance, one of which is the fact that the current banner features one of themost popularGenshin Impactcharacters, Kaedehara Kazuha who’s by many considered as a must-have character.
Another reason could be that a lot of players have been spending their time and money on the banners of therecently releasedHonkai: Star Railgamewhich features a similar gacha-based system. SinceStar Rail’s release, their banner sales have been overshadowingGenshin Impact’s revenue.
However, according to most fans, the main reason whyGenshin Impact’s banner revenue has been so lowover the last couple of weeks is the fact thatGenshin Impactis about to introduce a new major region named Fontaine to the game. The release of a brand-new nation is the main event in the game’s community and HoYoverse has been following a pattern of adding one major region per year. New regions introduce tons of content including new events, characters, weapons, and storylines.
