Gamers around the world are upset about the Microsoft’s apparent failure to deliver on its commitment to localize games for a wider audience around the world. Gamers who speak Korean and Arabic are petitioning to haveStarfieldlocalized for their benefit. There are over 300 million people who speak Arabic worldwide, and just shy of 80 million Korean speakers. With around 65 million and 35 million gamers respectively who speak these languages natively, it seems like Microsoft has dropped the ball especially considering the fact that it offers full Xbox support in Korea and Saudi Arabia. There are also several million Arabic speakers in the European region.

Not too long ago support for theRussian language support was quietly removed fromStarfield, and while some might assume that this is Bethesda showing solidarity with Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia, there are several other countries with significant Russian-speaking populations who are not involved. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan are among the countries with gamers who feel understandably slighted by the removal of Russian language support.

It is unknown why Russian language support has been removed, but it is disappointing for the Russian language speakers who don’t live in the country, especially considering the fact thatStarfieldwas reportedly already playable in January 2023. With regard to the Korean and Arabic languages, It appears that Bethesda has never had any plans to support them inStarfield, but the game does have an official website in the Korean language.
