Summary
Fortniteis no stranger to collaborations. Over the last five years,Fortnitehas essentially become the hub of pop-culture crossovers in the gaming space. Starting withAvengers: Infinity Warback in 2018, then doubling down withStar Warssoon after,Fortnite’s continued growthhas afforded it more pop-culture collaborations than any other entertainment property out there, with fashion brands, movies, TV shows, and even fellow video games all flocking to the live-service phenomenon in droves.
But there’s one majorFortnitecollaboration that’s been rumored for a long time now and that’s still yet to come to fruition, and that’s its alleged crossover with LEGO. Rumors started to surface about aLEGO xFortnitecrossoverabout a year ago, and the longer Epic Games keeps fans waiting, the more they’re going to expect from the event, as a LEGO xFortnitecollab has so much potential.

WhileFortnitehasn’t announced a crossover with LEGO just yet, LEGO and Epic Games did sign a deal back in April 2022 to produce some kind of Metaverse LEGO project together, laying the groundwork for aFortnitex LEGO collab.

Fortnite’s Recent LEGO Crossover Leak Explained
Ever sinceEpic Games announced its partnership with LEGOin April of last year,Fortnitefans have been pleading for some kind of LEGO crossover, and according to some recent leaks, they might be about to get their wish. Back in April of this year, a leak claimed that fans would see some kind ofFortnitex LEGO crossover in the game during Chapter 4’s fourth Season. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but that hasn’t stopped two major rumors concerning a crossover cropping up in the last month.
The first of these rumors claims thatFortnite’s LEGO collaboration is still definitely in the works, alongside some real-world LEGO sets based on the battle royale. Previously, a promotional polybag of a LEGOFortniteLoot Llama was leaked, and this rumor states that’ll just be one of a handful ofLEGOFortnitesetsthat are apparently on their way. With LEGO seemingly doubling down on video game sets over the last few years with itsOverwatch,Horizon Zero Dawn,Super Mario, andSonicsets, this leak would make a lot of sense.
Another recent leak supposedly sheds a little more light on what thisFortnitex LEGO in-game collaboration might be. If the leak can be believed, thenFortnite’s LEGO crossover will include an entirely new mode based around the construction toy, complete with its own unique set of building mechanics, its own missions, its ownBattle Pass progression system, and even some procedural world generation.
Fortnite Can Do a Lot with LEGO
Of course, all rumors and leaks should be taken with a huge pinch of salt, and that’s especially true for these LEGO xFortniterumors, with very little evidence to back them up. However, a LEGO xFortnitecollaboration has so much potential behind it that it’s hard not to get carried away with exciting concepts for possible in-game events. While the notion of an entirely unique LEGO mode forFortnitesounds great, it would be equally as exciting to see the crossover extend intoFortnite’s main battle royale modes as well.
AFortnitex LEGO crossover could see the entire battle royale map remade to look like it was one big LEGO set, complete with new brick types that allow players to create structures out of LEGO pieces. On top of that,Fortnitecould even give its NPCs a time-limited makeover, making them look likeLEGO minifigures. And ifFortnitereally wanted to go above and beyond, then it could add unique death animations that show the player bursting into a pile of bricks after being downed. That’s only just scratching the surface of what this crossover could bring, too.
