ConsideringNaoki Yoshida’s earlier commentsabout there being no plans forFinal Fantasy 16DLC, the announcement of two story-related expansions at the 2023 Game Awards came as a bit of a surprise to many; albeit a welcome one. The first of those expansions, Echoes of the Fallen, was released mere hours after the announcement, but fans have been made to wait quite a bit longer for the second.
Thankfully, that wait is almost over, with the release date for The Rising Tide now looming large on the horizon. Unsurprisingly, manyFinal Fantasy 16fans are keen to learn as much as they can about the upcoming DLC expansion, from its standalone price to its release time. Not all of this information has been confirmed as of the time of writing, but everything we do know about The Rising Tide can be found right here.

Final Fantasy 16 DLC: The Rising Tide Release Date and Time
The Rising Tide DLC will be released onApril 18, 2024. Like Echoes of the Fallen and manyother PlayStation Store DLC expansions,The Rising Tide will be released at midnight, local time, with local time being determined by the region of the user’s PlayStation Store account. Those living in countries that span multiple time zones may even be able to start playing on the evening of April 17, though this will depend on where in the country they live and which of those time zones they’re operating on.

Players were unable to preload Echoes of the Fallen, and this is once again the case with The Rising Tide DLC. It will go live at the same time asFinal Fantasy 16’s free 1.30 update, meaningplayers will not be able to pre-load The Rising Tide.
How Much Will The Rising Tide Cost?
As of the time of writing, it isn’t possible to purchase The Rising Tide on its own. However, duringa special panel at PAX East 2024, it was revealed thatThe Rising Tide will have a standalone price of $19.99. Alternatively, players can purchase theFinal Fantasy 16Expansion Pass for $24.99, which includes both The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen. Those who already own the expansion pass will have access to The Rising Tide at launch.
