Much of the content in the premium edition is physical, with most of the in-game extras being earned by purchasing the game by March 22. After waiting 15 years to get their hands on the game, there will be many fans out there that opt to pre-order the game, with anticipation for the franchise the highest it has been for a long time.

The new story trailer gives players a preview of the game’s storyline, alongside a brief look at the game’s mechanics. Shown in the trailer is the Photo Mode, which is becoming more and more common in modern gaming. The trailer also reveals a variety of costumes for players who purchase the game by March 22, including the Ruka Limited Edition “Fox Mask” white and red costume, and Misaki Limited Edition “Fox Mask” black and scarlet costume, among others. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipseis huge for fans of the franchise. Until now, the has only been available in Japanese, meaning this release is thefirst Western localization ofFatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. 15 years is a long time to wait, but the franchise is known for its long wait before localizations, so for many, this is business as usual.

TheFatal Framefranchise is a huge name in the horror community. Despite this, the series hasn’t sold as well as many of its counterparts in the genre. This is likely due to the originalMask of the Lunar Eclipseand the most recent entryMaiden of the Black Waterbeing only available on the Wii and Wii U, respectively.
