Far Cry 6seems to be the most promisingFar Cryto be developed. The trailer has done an impressive job of introducing the main villain and his goals, already showing some conflict with him raising up his successor– his son. The reason whyFar Cry 6came as such a surprise to players is because it wasn’t three years ago thatFar Cry 5was released.

Now,Far Cry 6looks like it’s going to be such agreat gamegiven what we know already. And since the developers had time to receive feedback from previous games, they would have already improved on theFar Cryformula from that feedback. With much hype surroundingFar Cry 6,here’s what we already know, and what we hope for:
12It takes place in a Cuban-inspired setting
The game takes place in Yara. A ‘land frozen in time.’ Theworldof Yara captures the beautiful architectural landscape of Cuba, detailing every nook and cranny of the country. Yara surely won’t fall short of feeling like Cuba too, in the same way thatFar Cry 4’sKyrat is to India. In addition, Yara would beFar Cry’sbiggest world yet, allowing for more varied landscapes and biomes. Knowing Cuba’s revolutionary history, this makes it the perfect setting for a guerilla uprising.
11It centers around a revolution
Far Cry 4and5focus on a plot where the people revolt against an oppressive leader. The Golden Path is the revolutionary movement ofFar Cry 4,and the people of Hope County inFar Cry 5seek to dispose of cult dominion of their community.Far Cry 6will do the same. The trailer shows Anton Castillo, the main antagonist, with his son standing atop their palace. Beneath them is a revolutionary riot with freedom fighters taking down his statue and causing all sorts of havoc.
10The antagonist is a fascist dictator
Anton Castillo is the ruling dictator of Yara. The trailer establishes him as hated by his people. This is explicitly shown through the destruction of his statues, the riots, the signs and vandals that read ‘fascist,’ and the greeting on the grenade handed to him ‘Muerte a Castillo’ which translates to ‘Death to Castillo.’

Anton is cool, calm, collected, yet assertive and firm. He is also a future-oriented father who grooms his son to take over his place as ruler of Yara. Played byBreaking Bad’sGiancarlo Esposito, he’s sure to make one hell of a bad guy out of ‘El Presidente.’
9The main protagonist is a revolutionary leader
If the game’s main antagonist is a fascist dictator, then it’s only right that players play as the Che Guevara equivalent of gaming. Players will play as a revolutionary leader who will ignite the fires of the revolution to overthrow the dictatorship. The players will build their army and gather the necessary resources to strengthen the revolution. This may include dismantling radio towers, intercepting enemy convoys with precious cargo, and building a network of rebels.
8The main protagonist can talk
Far Cry 5’smute protagonist has zero personality outside of grunts and screams of pain. He’s (or she’s) also not named anything besides ‘the Deputy.‘Far Cry 6’smain protagonist, however, has a name: Dani Rojas. If Ubisoft has given a character a proper name, that means that they have also given him a fitting personality requiring a voice. Another interesting thing about this is that Dani Rojas, likeAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’sEivor, can either be a male or female. This means that Ubisoft has allocated two different voice actors for the role.
7There will be companions
Dani can’t possibly overthrow the government by himself. Like allFar Cryprotagonists, he will just do most of the work. Though there will be a revolutionary army, companions will be available in addition to help the players take down the opposition. Ubisoft has stated that fangs for hire will be in the game, but has only acknowledged one of them for now.

Chorizo, the wiener dog, is ananimal companionthat will distract enemies like Boomer does inFar Cry 5.Human companions would most likely be available since it would be a shame if Hurk would miss out on this one.
6There will be makeshift weapons
With any dictatorship, the country’s funds are more oriented towards military development and security than its people. The rebel group would have to rely on makeshiftweapons, like a flamethrower built with a muffler, to wage war against the government. Another is this disc launcher seemingly built from parts found at home depot. There would also definitely be Molotov cocktails in the game, along with other makeshift arms.
5There will be vehicles-on-demand
Far Cry 4and all previous titles were deprived of on-demand vehicles. WithFar Cry 5andNew Dawn, vehicles were available to spawn anytime at the players’ command. That is also the case withFar Cry 6.Ubisoft shows that purchasing the Ultimate Edition of the game gives players exclusive content such as clothes and vehicles. The presence of vehicles in the Ultimate Edition pack suggests that players can own vehicles in the game.
4The main protagonist may be fully customizable
The main protagonist Dani Rojas can either be male or female. However, his (or her) face isn’t shown too clearly. Since the Ultimate Edition features exclusive clothes, players may have the option to fully customize Dani’s face, hair, and clothing just like with the deputy inFar Cry 5andNew Dawn.

This gives a customization similar toGhost Recon: WildlandsandBreakpointwhere Nomad can be fully customized, but is still addressed by a proper callsign. Given this customizability, it could mean that Hurk won’t be the co-op model for the 2nd player like withFar Cry 4.
3Diego Castillo will be a crucial plot element
Diego Castillo, son of ‘El Presidente’ Anton Castillo, is groomed and taught how to succeed his father. In the trailer, the dictator Anton tells Diego that like the grenade in his hands, he should clutch his people “nice and tight” so that society doesn’t “go boom.” However, towards the end of the trailer, Diego’s fingers hesitantly loosen around thegrenadebefore cutting to black and ending the trailer. This could mean that he is conflicted between his father’s advice and his own morals after seeing how much the people hate his father. It may suggest a branching storyline where Diego follows in his father’s bloody footsteps, or he takes a more democratic approach as ‘El Presidente.’
