Despite the name, it’s not a set that’s tailor-made for Necromancers exclusively. In fact,Elder Scrolls Online’s Wardenand Sorcerer classes are the only ones who can make the most use of this set, as the full bonus only takes effect when a permanent combat pet is out.
Necropotence Armor Set Effects
The Necropotence Set is one of the most popular sets in the game, but thatdoesn’t mean it’s particularly complicated. At each equip level the bonus remains the same: an increase of 1096 Magicka. By equipping four items of the set, the player’s Magicka is increased by a total of 3,288 – a pretty good bonus for those who cast lots of spells in combat.

By equipping five pieces of this set, the full set bonus gives an additional 1096 for a total of 4,384 Magicka – but only if you have a combat pet currently summoned. This counts for the Warden’s Bear and the Sorcerer’s Winged Twilight, Familiar, and Clannfear, but does not count for the Warden’s Cliff Racer, the Necromancer’s undead summons, or other pets thatdon’t stay on the battlefield.
How To Get The Necropotence Set
The Necropotence Set can only be found in Rivenspire, an area that is normally mid-way through theDaggerfall Covenant questline. It’s an overworld set, which means that the set pieces drop from a huge variety of sources throughout the zone.
Quests, Delve bosses, World bosses, Public Dungeons, and Dark Anchors throughout the zone all have a chance to drop pieces to this set. Be sure that you are at max-level before heading to Rivenspire, though, as gear inElder Scrolls Onlinescales with the player’s level only when picked up. A Necropotence Helmet acquired at Level 20 just doesn’t cut it for a max-level Sorcerer.

The Elder Scrolls Onlineis available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
