Having been first introduced in 2016, two years after the game’s initial release,The Elder Scrolls Online’s Witches Festival has sought to grow and add new activities and achievements throughout the years. One of the more noteworthy cosmetic armor additions to the event’s collection of costumes brings the harrowingDremora armormotif to the drop tables. Most of these appearances can be earned from acquiring Plunder Skulls dropped and looted from any boss type enemy the player might encounter, including those found in delves, group dungeons, public dungeons, trials, arenas, dark anchors and world bosses. Aside from cosmetics, these limited-time Plunder Skulls also contain such extras as titles, treasure maps, special Halloween inspired crafting recipes and even a witch’s hat.
For those less interested in repeatedly toppling bosses and relying on chance to show off their Halloween spirit, the crown store offers several seasonal selections ranging from aSkyrim inspired Draugrcostume to a player home modeled after an eerie witch’s hut that can be decorated and visited even after the event, with a limited time achievement that unlocks the purchase of the witch’s hut with more easily attainable gold. Also returning for the Witches Festival is the chance to obtain the Hollowjack armor set and weapon skins, randomly acquired from opening runeboxes acquired during the event.
Halloweenhas always been a perfect opportunity for game developers to get creative with their game’s world, every representation of the holiday growing the setting’s lore as well as grounding it in a familiar real-life tradition. The Elder Scrolls Online’sWitches Festival is no exception, annually bridgingTamrieland October with fun to be shared throughout the game’s community.
