A commonality that most FromSoftware titles possess is the sheer variance in how each game can be approached, andElden Ringis no exception to this. With newfound stealth options, a large selection of weapons and equipment for the player to choose from, as well as combat and magic options,Elden Ringhas a lot to offer purely from a mechanical standpoint. However, it seems that players can use certain aspects of the game’s equipment to their advantage.
A central mechanic that has been present since the release ofDemon’s Soulsis the ability to invade other people’s in-game worlds. This creates an additional layer of depth to any givenSoulsgame’s difficulty, given that players will also have to worry about the strength of other players. However, oneElden Ringplayer recently figured out a way to trick invaders that were planning to attack them.

A Reddit user named xdc_lis found a way to trick an invader into thinking the player was an enemy NPC. The player disguised their character as a soldier serving underGodrick the Graftedand proceeded to summon an invader to their world, only to trick the invader into believing they were an NPC by walking along the same scripted path that an enemy NPC typically would in a specific location.
This is an extremely impressive feat, considering that the player likely had to walk back and forth for an extensive period of time. Though, for how much time the player spent pacing back and forth, it must have certainly been satisfying to see the invader run right past the player without noticing anything. Moments like this really help to highlight the potential ofElden Ring’sstealth system.
It’s amazing how much players have managed to accomplish withinElden Ringover such a brief period of time. It’s eye-opening to see the kinds of things that theDark Soulsformula can provide in an open-world environment. This has even led to many playerscriticizing Ubisoft’s approach to open world gamescompared toElden Ring.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds forElden Ringgoing forward. Despite releasing just a couple of weeks ago, there have already beenrumors circulating about potentialElden RingDLC. While nothing has been confirmed as of right now, given FromSoftware’s track record when it comes to games likeDark SoulsandBloodborne, there’s a distinct possibility that DLC forElden Ringcould become a reality. For those playing PvP in the game’s current content, though, trying out this strategy could lead to some fun moments.
