Perhaps the most active part of the community for the game exists on Reddit, where players post videos and screenshots on a daily basis. These posts vary from memes to serious and helpful posts like oneElden Ringplayer teaching another how to parry. These posts serve to further bring the community together to bond over the game, and recently one player created a hilarious post depicting theirElden Ringcharacter, who was none other than Kanye West.
Though the image is grainy, it is very clear who Reddit user Esacus has created in the character editor, as one can easily make the visual connection. Perhaps the funniest thing about the character is the implications that come with it. First, Kanye takes over rap, then he takes over as Elden Lord. Or, perhaps Kanye himself is a FromSoftware fan; surely he would want to play as himself, and this shows he could, given that he puts in the effort. Though seeing awesome builds likeElden Ring’s Ichigo buildare welcome additions, there’s something special about seeing Kanye West of all people romping through the Lands Between.
Other Reddit users seemed to agree with this sentiment, as the thread was full of jokes. One player had the brilliant idea of using the bubble horn weapon, which uses music as its form of attack; this would be a perfect weapon for the famous musician. Many jokes were made referencing the famous moment where Kanye interrupts Taylor Swift on-stage at the 2009 VMAs; perhaps the best of these jokes referencedRanni’sElden Ringquest line, calling it the best of all time and saying players should definitely get the Darkmoon Greatsword.
As with many characters before it, such asElden Ring’s handsome Squidward, this Kanye West character once again shows not only the extent of the game’s character creator, but also shows the incredible skill of the players who use it. As the game continues to grow, most likely so will the crazy characters that players come up with.
