AnElden Ringmod spawns an already challenging boss during a typically uneventful elevator journey. The Godskin Noble has been traumatizing players with black-flame attacks of inhuman speed and the ability to roll on the side without end sinceElden Ringreleased, and placing the intimidating, skin wearing enemy on a small elevator platform is a death just waiting to happen.
Games that fall under the categorization of Soulsborne are renowned for their replay value, both inherently and from the breadth of mods available. In recent years, modding of theDark Soulsseries has continued gaining recognition, with the “Cinders” mod forDark Souls 3boasting 364,446 unique downloads from Nexus Mods at the time of writing. Despite being ostensibly limited to PC, and without beloved FromSoftware titleBloodborneto play with, Soulsborne modding has grown into a niche but thriving community, and it is no surprise that the required tools were repurposed forElden Ringvery shortly after release.

In a video uploaded to Reddit by u/cassidyhunt,a Glintstone Crown wearing Tarnishedis seen acting as one does on an elevator; moving erratically just for the fun of it. They no doubt do not expect the platform to abruptly stop halfway up the Divine Tower of Liurnia, which in the un-modded game would take players to Ranni’s Cursemark of Death without any interruption. But here the elevator stops, as does the player’s prior carefree attitude, who is afforded a few seconds of utter confusion before a Godskin Noble spawns just in front of them.
The previously minimized user interface is brought to life and pure panic ensues.Even the powerful Moonveil Katanaand Carian Knight’s Shield are of no use, as the disoriented player dodges in whatever direction they hope to be safe from the swinging Godskin Stitcher. Their efforts prove insufficient, as attempt to avoid the Noble’s fist causes them to fall off the elevator and to death. Comments initially believed it to be a glitch, as a Godskin Noble is supposed to guard the bridge just before the tower, but it was confirmed to be an intended part of the “Reforged” mod forElden Ring.
Elden Ring"Reforged" released on April 3, just over a month after release, and has been consistently updated since, with the most recent patch just 4 days ago at the time of writing. Among other things, itintroduces aSekiro-like deflect system, presents a variety of difficulty options, and provides a method to resurrect bosses at the Roundtable Hold.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
