There are a ton of Talismans inElden Ring, but depending on their placement in the world some Talismans are much more useful than others. For example, the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +2 is found later in the game than the better Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. The Soreseal and Scarseal Talismans are good examples of theusefulness of a Talismanbased on how easy it is to get.

Marika’s Scarseal is found far earlier than its upgraded counterpart (Marika’s Soreseal), making it the go-to choice for Sorcery and Incantation-oriented builds for mostElden Ringplaythroughs. It’s not all upsides, though: for as good a Talisman as it is, Marika’s Scarseal comes with a hefty downside.

Marika’s Scarseal Gives +3 To Int, Faith, Mind, and Arcane

Marika’s Scarseal is a basic Talisman that increases four stats – Intelligence, Faith, Mind, and Arcane – by three points. In exchange for what is essentially 12 free levels, players take 10% more damage from all sources while it’s equipped.

Depending on how much you’ve spent in Vigor and Endurance, this can be a massive drawback.Builds that make use of Faith, Int, Mind, and Arcane tend to be squishy already, so if you plan to use Marika’s Scarseal for your build, be sure to invest in your HP and Equip Load for better survivability.

How To Get Marika’s Scarseal

To get Marika’s Scarseal players must first have defeated General Radahn andgained access to Nokron, Eternal City, in the upper levels of the upper Siofra River. Head to the Ancestral Woods Site of Lost Grace and head southeast towards the underpass of the stone bridge. Turn left, then drop down onto the stone platforms.

Continue along these platforms northwest, carefully scaling the obstacles, ramps, and walls as you slowly descend, until you get to a flat area with grass and marsh. Go down a ramp to get here, then go all the way across the water to reach the bottom of a distant waterfall. You will find Marika’s Scarseal on the ground here. Though you are above it, on the in-game map you should appear nearthe Dragonkin Soldier arena.
