Summary

BioWareis a company known for RPGs and MMORPGs which has flourished through the use of some great franchises over the last three decades. ThoughBioWare’s games are generally long-lasting and have a lot to do throughout, players have found that some of them have a lot less difficulty than others.

This is a natural way that the gaming industry has changed, with difficulty being much more a choice that players get to make as accessibility shifts for most of the games in the industry. However, there are a few that are particularly less difficult than others, providing a completely different level of play for gamersas they traverse some incredible stories.

6Dragon Age: Origins

Most of the BioWare game franchises are much more difficult than regular games, constantly challenging players as they try to find a class in each RPG that can work well throughout. However, finding that class is much easier in some than in others, and when mixing that with the fact that theDragon Agefranchise is generally easier than some of BioWare’s other works, the difficulty change is dramatic, even in some of the incredible DLCs.

Dragon Age: Originsisn’t a simple game, but almost none of BioWare’s works are made to be easy or entirely accessible. They like to provide some level of challenge and that means that players will have to work to achieve the big victories. That being said,Dragon Age: Originshas some definite difficulty spikes at various times, but it doesn’t reward players with more XP for playing at a higher difficulty like in some BioWare games. This makes it much more accessible for playing at a lower level.

5Mass Effect 3

TheMass Effectfranchise is another one of BioWare’s most famous works which managed to gain a lot of fame because it is generally more accessible and playable for less experienced gamers than some of the more medieval-focused franchises that BioWare has created. The gunplay style of combat made for a much more reasonable level of difficulty throughout the series, especially in this gamegiven all the companionsplayers can travel with.

Mass Effect 3followed the most difficult entry in the franchise and finally found more of a balance for the series. While the first game was considered by many to be too easy, the sequel found a higher level of difficulty and became generally less accessible, prompting a return to a slightly easier format in the final part of the trilogy.

4Star Wars: The Old Republic

While there was plenty of difficulty toKnights of the Old Republic, this attempt at creating an MMORPG in theStar WarsUniverse was a change in that department. Not easy to begin with, but a much more simple time than most MMOs once players gain a foothold and some better equipment,The Old Republicwas a surprisingly easy ride for a BioWare game, even throughout the expansionsthat have come since.

Like most MMOs, there are a variety of ways for players to make the game easier, such as staying in low-level areas and fighting upwards slowly enough to remain over-leveled. Both this and the generally easier ride that players are given throughout the game compared to others in the genre make it one of the easiest overall games that BioWare has developed.

3Dragon Age: Inquisition

Another game in theDragon Agefranchise, this was another attempt by BioWare to make their games a little more accessible and Inquisition does remain beloved, with many fans continuing today to call it the best of the franchise. Inquisition made itself easier from former entries in several ways, to the point that several franchise fans ended up believing it to be too simple.

The combat throughout the game, even in dungeons, needed by many gamers to be turned up to hard before it presented any real threat to life at all. WhileDragon Age: Inquisitionis a marvelously fun and well-built gamethat casts players as a nobody, it doesn’t deliver challenging combat in the way that most BioWare games, and even otherDragon Agegames, manage to do on a high level.

2Jade Empire

Jade Empireis one of the few BioWare games that, to this day, still does not have any kind of sequelor follow-up. The RPG steeped in Chinese Mythology was a brilliant one-off game that was surprisingly left in BioWare’s history as a lone wolf, the black sheep of an amazing company that deserved much better follow-up than it ended up getting.

Despite being filled with an amazing story, graphics that were astounding for their time, and extremely fun progression throughout the game, one thing thatJade Empirehad a problem with is that it was far too easy. Most enemies fell to pieces almost immediately, and after players had leveled significantly, this got even worse, and it was hard to find enough difficulty levels to makeJade Empirea real challenge.

1Mass Effect

The originalMass Effectgame remains an absolute masterpiece that has already been remastered by BioWare and likely will be again. This first foray into the franchise had a significant problem with difficulty, providing combat that wasn’t challenging at all, and as such the game has been left far more memorable in story termsand the beautiful planets visitedthan in mechanics.

TheMass Effectfranchise moved on and managed to become legendary, even switching up the difficulty and style of combat in later entries, but the first game remains by far the easiest in both the franchise and in the history of major works by BioWare.
