WithUFC 4hitting shelves in just a few weeks' time, it seemsEAis ramping up its coverage of the next major entry in the MMA franchise, showing the biggest changes players can expect to see. The latest of these deep-dive videos released today, with the EA Sports UFC channel debuting an official career mode breakdown that goes through the most important new features.

While the trailer highlightsan impressive number of changes to how the mode works, it seems the majority can be broken down into four different categories: fighter evolution, relationship system, unscripted storyline, and injury system. There’s also a significant new change in the addition of Coach Davis, who acts as a mentor character to the player and will seemingly aid them in rising to the top of the card.

As for the bigger systems, fighter evolution appears to do exactly what it says on the tin. It’ll be a more immersive and rewarding way for players to grow their combatant’s abilities and stats, with the trailer promising that players will grow based on how they fight and train. The example the trailer gives sees the player character focusing on judo skills, with their in-game avatar becoming stronger in that discipline because of it.

Next up is the new relationship system, which will focus on how you interact with otherUFC fighters, promoters, and fans. It seems there’ll be far more options to dictate how fighters are perceived in the MMA world, with the addition of press conferences and social media call outs. The video even shows how knocking a partner out during sparring could be detrimental to how players are seen in the MMA world, dropping relationship points and fan respect.

The unscripted storyline meanwhile will see players get more of a free reign to navigate the MMA world in whatever way they desire. They can get to theUFCthrough several different ways, including by rising through an independent promotion, while players will also have the opportunity to go up or down a weight division if they’re looking for new opponents. Finally, the injury system will see players have to deal with more realistic injuries, with the results meaning they will have to take time to recover or perhaps risk shortening the length of their career.

Overall,UFC 4looks to have the most well-rounded career mode to date, with various new systems and immersive mechanics. With several of the biggest names in the UFC showing up in the trailer as well - including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, Kamara Usman, and Israel Adesanya - it’s clear rising to the top will be filled with memorable moments.
