There are plenty of officially sanctioned campaigns inDungeons and Dragonsthat cover just about any situation tabletop gaming fans would like to take on, includingcrossovers with properties likeMagic: The Gathering. But sometimes the stars align and a perfect crossover comes into existence thanks to the ingenuity of players.

Thus is the case with Chris “Snickelsox” Lock’sDungeons and Dragonshomebrew stat sheet for a chaotic good Kool-Aid Man. In this build, the Kraft Heinz Company’s brand mascot is an animated Construct immune to just about all damage types and conditions, speaks the Abyssal language of demons, and deals double damage to objects and structures.

Of course it is also important to note that the Kool-Aid Man gets three “Oh Yeah” actions per day, which bolsters surrounding allies with extra rolls, and that the ooze within the container can separate itself and independently move through small spaces. Even in a game with creatures as terrifying as theall-powerful, quadrupedal beast Tarrasque, the Kool-Aid Man looks like a force to be reckoned with.

Lock’s Twitter feed is full of similar homebrew stat sheets for all manner of ridiculous characters. One of the more recent examples is an Animated Armor that is full of bees, but there are also other inclusions that reference popular media franchises likePokemonandDigimon, just in time for theDigimon Adventureanime reboot.

In his more serious time, Lock has been working on new sourcebooks for the Fifth Edition under the banner “Lasers & Liches” that create an 80s Sci-Fi universe to explore called the Retroverse, utilizing a synthwave style reminiscent of films likeMarvel’sThor: Ragnarokfrom 2017. The Kickstarter created for his project in February 2019 received all the funding it needed in just 30 minutes, and as of its closing had gathered $102,144.

While the breadth of ideas present in Lasers & Liches is impressive to say the least, there’s something incredibly charming about the idea of one say seeing an official character build for Lock’s more outlandish, one-off creations. If Wizards of the Coast have made aDungeons and Dragonscampaign in partnership withCritical Roll, why not let there be another one that allows players to become the Kool-Aid Man?
