Dragon’s Dogmais one of Capcom’s lesser known, but still beloved open-world action RPGs that has been published. The developer is celebrating the game reaching momentous milestone, witha website celebratingDragon’s Dogma’s 10th anniversary, which went live on the release day of the game in North America, May 22. This includes a new piece of artwork depicting the game’s customizable protagonist, the Arisen, as well as a dragon. The celebration doesn’t stop at just this website either, as Capcom announced a future digital event presentation that will be held later this month.
This announcement was made duringCapcom’s Summer Showcase, which focused on games likeExoprimal, theResident Evil 4 Remake, andMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakexpansion. Among all of these announcements, there was one that involved the game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, who appeared with a special announcement.

He announced that aDragon’s Dogmaevent will be showcased, that will be focused on the game’s 10th anniversary. This even had a new logo forDragon’s Dogma10th anniversary as well, implementing the number in it. This video will be shown on both Capcom’s andDragon’s Dogma’s YouTube channels and will be taking place on June 16th.
One of the reasons whyDragon’s Dogmais so beloved is that it was Capcom’s earliest attempts at an open-world action RPG, along with the developer’s first attempt at a massive online multiplayer mode as well, years before theMonster Hunterseries implemented an open-world. The original game got a re-release years later, with technical improvements and fan feedback implementations with the release ofDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, bringing the game to modern systems.
Many fans are theorizing that this announcement could be a modern port for current gen systems, bringing the game to PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. Other fans are hoping that this will lead to an announcement ofDragon’s Dogma 2, which has seen a lot of demand over the past decade. This demand is supported by rumors that spread from a set leaks through a ransomware attack on Capcom’s database back in 2020, which revealed a number of in-development projects. This included potential details for a possible sequel, such as the game’s engine. Itsuno himself had been teasing fans about a new project that he has been working on since 2021, with many fans hoping that it is the rumored sequel too. Fans will have to see until the event itself to see if these rumors pan out.
