There has been no shortage ofBattlefield 6leaks over the last several weeks, with seemingly every aspect of the game being covered. One of the biggest leaks has suggested that a battle royale mode is coming forBattlefield 6, and it seems like streamer Dr Disrespect has latched onto this idea.

This would not be the first time that DICE has attempted to add a battle royale mode to theBattlefieldfranchise, asBattlefield 5’s Firestorm modesaw the studio dabbling with the concept. Dr Disrespect touched on this at around the four-hour mark of his latest stream, saying that the mode’s failure was caused by DICE and EA just trying to “get something out there” for fans of the battle royale genre. Given the mode’s lack of polish, support, and unique features, the Two Time’s breakdown of the situation adds up.

However, Dr Disrespect seems to believe that aBattlefield 6battle royale has potential. The streamer says that he has a feeling “they’re really going to bring it for this nextBattlefield,” adding that he feels the experience will be “fast” and “explosive.” The Doc also points out DICE’s experience with bigger maps, believing that it will beca huge factor in some strong map design for the hypothetical battle royale mode. With all ofBattlefield 6’s maps rumored to be massive, it is possible that several locations are transformed into battle royale locations, giving fans lots of content to play with.

Dr Disrespect’s excitement for the mode is noticeable, though he does wonder “how much influence vehicles will have” on the overall gameplay of the mode. Considering that vehicles are mostly used for transport in other battle royale games and could easily be deemed unbalanced if they are too strong, this is a fair question to raise. However, vehicles are crucial to theBattlefieldexperience, and letting players use tanks or jets in a match could prove to be a major positive forBattlefield 6’s battle royale mode. With traditional multiplayer relying on a balance between vehicles and infantry play, it makes sense that a battle royale mode would be the same.

Dr Disrespect’s hype seems to be tied to his recentfrustrations withCall of Duty: Warzone. Before going into why he is excited forBattlefield 6and a possible battle royale offering, he points out that “Warzonehas taken over” the battle royale genre. Believing this to be unhealthy and wanting some proper competition for the game so that it improves, The Two Time is hoping that the leaks are accurate. While it would take a lot forCall of Duty: Warzoneto be dethroned, it appears that content creator feels it is possible.

Still, while Dr Disrespect is obviously hyped, fans should not expect aBattlefield 6battle royale until it is officially confirmed by DICE or EA. Much likeBattlefield 6’s launch on Game Pass, the mode’s existence is still nothing but a rumor at this time.

Battlefield 6is in development for unspecified platforms.
