The weekend manyDestiny 2players have been waiting for is nearly here as the Vault of Glass finally makes its return. This week,Bungie revealed all of the details for the World’s First racetaking place on Saturday. Starting at 10 AM PDT, Contest Mode will be active as players attempt to clear the fan favorite raid before everyone else. Naturally, the World’s First belt and bragging rights are on the line, but everyone who finishes before May 25 will unlock a Raid Ring for purchase, as well as a Raid Jacket if done prior to June 1.
Bungie also revealed that the incredibly popular Hunter exotic armorStar-Eater Scales will be disabled for the first 24 hoursto make things a bit more fair for participants. Introduced this season, the exotic armor allows Hunters to charge their super faster when picking up Orbs of Power, and eventually overcharge the super if the meter is full dealing bonus damage. However, Bungie appears to have found an issue with them that gives some abilities more damage than intended.

Before venturing back to Venus to take on the Vault of Glass, the exotic merchant Xur has once again brought his exotic wares to the world for players to check out. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of July 20, 2025 inside ofDestiny 2.
Where is Xur?
Unsurprisingly, Xur is back in what is quickly becoming his favorite spot in the entire game. Players should head to the Tower Hangar this week to find the elusive merchant.
As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher
While Xur’s role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.
Other than that, here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Astrocyte Verse - Warlock helm
Just on sale a few weeks ago, the Astrocyte Verse is back once again. This is a solid movement focused exotic, similar to the St0MP-EE5 Hunter Boots or Lion Rampant Titan Boots.
It’s exotic perk is called Move to Survive and it allows Blink Warlocks to use the jumping motion more frequently and at a further distance. In addition, weapons ready quicker out of Blink and the Radar remains active. Obviously, this isn’t going to be a top tier exotic piece for warlocks as there are much better combat oriented armor. For players who like using blink and need a bit of help withplatforming focused activities inDestiny 2, it’s a must have.
Just like last week, the roll is incredibly high at 66. While some may lament the fact that recovery is extremely low, the high stats alone make it worth at least checking out.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Gemini Jester - Hunter leg armor
After the disappointment that was last week, Hunters at least have a better option to pick from this weekend. The intrinsic perk Misdirection causes nearby enemies to become disoriented and temporarily removes their radar after the Hunter dodges near them.
Similar to the other exotics, this isn’t a top tier exotic, though they can be fun to use in PvP against other players. The range of its Misdirection effect is larger than many think and could very easily mess other players up who are not ready for it or perhaps on the other side of a wall even. Keep in mind that this perk can also be a liability as it will trigger theTitan’s One-Eyed Mask perk Vengeance.
Dunemarchers - Titan leg armor
Dunemarchers are back in stock for Titan players this weekend. Linear Actuators increase the player’s sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies.
While these are a fun exotic to mess around with, their actual utility may vary from person to person. Still, they’re worth picking up for those who don’t have them as they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses likebottom tree Strikeror middle tree Sunbreaker. Stats this week are pretty solid overall, so for those who may want an upgrade, these could be it. These would be a pretty good choice this week as the pair has a very high recovery stat, likely making it better than a lot of collection roll versions.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
Exotic Weapon
The underrated Monte Carlo auto rifle is back in stock with Xur once more. The Monte Carlo Method is its intrinsic perk which reduces the player’s melee cooldown when dealing damage with the gun. In addition, it gives a chance to fully charge the player’s melee ability following each kill. Markov Chain pairs with this ability which gives the gun increased damage following melee kills and kills with the weapon. Melee kills also generate weapon ammo.
Auto Rifles are always a solid choice inDestiny 2and Monte Carlo is more than a viable option for many players especially considering its ability to help regenerate melee abilities. For those who don’t yet have this weapon, it’s worth picking up this week.
