So far, it’s been a big week forDestiny 2players as the latest season has finally arrived, bringing with it new loot, new quests, and abrand new activity called the Sundial. As it has already been well established, Osiris has returned to help fix the timeline which has been shattered due to recent events. Players can participate in the 6 person Sundial activity, which is a smaller remix of the Menagerie, as well as embark on a quest to save Saint-14 and restore obelisks in the world.
The ever evolving world continues its march forward next week as the annual winter event known asThe Dawning returns to the Tower. Once more, players will be using a small over to craft cookies, toss snowballs, and of course, pick up some exclusive event items at the Eververse store. Just like the Festival of the Lost from a couple months ago, The Dawning also has an exclusive event weapon, an SMG called Cold Front.

Until then,Destiny 2players can hunt down the exotic merchant Xur, who has returned to the game and brought with him new items for sale. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of August 05, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Exotic hunters can find Xur hanging out in his usual spot on the Nessus Barge.
From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher’s Grave. Once loaded in, run forward until the zone opens up. The Golden Barge is floating nearby with Xur hanging out towards the back of the ship near the treasure chests.

Class Armor
Keep in mind thatthe Armor 2.0 updatehas caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including new exotic items.
Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:
Wings of Sacred Dawn - Warlock Chest Armor
The unique looking Wings of Sacred Dawn are available for Warlocks this weekend. Tome of Dawn is its exotic perk, suspending Dawnblade players in midair when aiming weapons and extending the duration when hitting enemies with gunshots.
While this armor would traditionally have been a skip, with the recentchanges to the Attunement of Sky subclass, this gear is now immediately more valuable even if it’s signature perk leaves players exposed. For those players who don’t yet have it, these are worth a look this week.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:
Young Ahamkara’s Spine - Hunter gauntlets
The rarely seen Young Ahamkara’s Spine gauntlets are back in stock with Xur this weekend. It comes with an exotic perk called Wish-Dragon Teeth, whichincreases tripmine grenade duration and blast radius. Better yet, any damage done with the ability returns bonus tripmine grenade energy.
Just like the other gear pieces, this exotic item has received a minor upswing in usefulness thanks in large part to the solar subclass changes Bungie made at the start of this season. Not only that, they continue to synergize well with the Way of a Thousand Cuts subclass tree. It may not be able to compete with some Hunter exotics like Shards of Galanor, but when used in certain spots, it’s a decent choice.
Hallowfire Heart - Titan chest armor
The Hallowfire Heart is a strong subclass specific item specifically designed for Sunbreaker Titans. Sunfire Furnace, the item’s exotic perk, improves the recharge rate of all solar abilities. Additionally, it greatly improves ability recharge rates while the player’s super meter is fully charged. This distinction is important for Titans who use a powerful ability like melting point, which can give teams an edge in a mode like Gambit.
There remains a debate among those in the community who value the Heart of Inmost Light a bit more than this exotic armor. Ether way, the Hallowfire Heart is a solid choice, especially to go along with therecent solar subclass changes.
Exotic Weapon
This week ,Xur has the very useful Prometheus Lens energy trace rifle. Many longtime players will likely remember this weapon forchaos it originally caused within the Cruciblethe week of its release as well as a unique emblem Bungie handed out to those who got to experience it.
Prismatic Inferno is its intrinsic perk which makes the weapon fire a Solar beam and generate a damaging heat field that grows while the weapon continues to fire. Its other unique perk is Flame Refraction which returns a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine from reserves, extending the beam’s duration. Regardless, this may not be the best option available for an exotic weapon, but it’s still fun to use in most PvE style game modes.
