In any huge game played by thousands of people, such asWorld of Warcraft, there will be those who want to push the boundaries and explore. This is true forDestiny 2, where players hunt inside the game for information and watchtrailers to find secretand determine what’s coming next.
This often amounts to speculation about the next story beat inDestiny 2’s ever-expanding lore, or hunting for clues about upcoming gear. However, now and again there are new things found in the worlds ofDestiny 2that prove surprising. It was some exploration out of bounds that led to a strange discovery in the Haunted Forest.

This out of bounds discovery was found by a couple of players having fun during a Haunted Forest run. The Haunted Forest is located within the Infinite Forest, creating a randomly generated gauntlet that players can fight through for prizes. While the locations, or branches, that players can play through are randomized, the chest platform where they receive their rewards is not. It is up in the sky, surrounded by nothing in particular, except for one mystery platform that these players set out to investigate.
The platform was far away from the chest platform, and clearly not meant to be accessed.Destiny 2is known for its combat movement, however, and with some creative attacks and air hops, Reddit user Froggy and his companions were able to reach the platform. It appeared to be a slope with alternating staircases and hallways that had huge pistons designed to push people off the platform. Their conclusion seems to be that it is an obstacle course, though for what purpose is unclear. It might be part of an upcomingraid like the Vault of Glass, or part of some greater puzzle not yet completed.
The players could only remain on the platform for a few seconds before being kicked out, but they confirmed it was a playable area. Discoveries like this are a testament to player ingenuity. Not every discovery has to be araid-breaking bug inDestiny 2that makes players more capable, as sometimes these discoveries lead to community speculation.
One downside is that this is a purely physical find, with no lore tie-ins to suggest what it might be. Players are still looking for deeper lore, like with a recentLast Wish boss discovery. Only time will tell whether this obstacle course turns out to be something bigger in the future.
