A bug inDestiny 2’s Hive themed dungeon, the Pit of Heresy, is bugged, allowing players toclaim Flawless Completionsand lightning fast completion times with relative ease. The bug revolves around the use of checkpoints to trick the game into thinking that the player cleared the whole dungeon under certain conditions.
Destiny2grants a Flawless Completion if a fireteam manages to clear a dungeon without suffering any deaths, but this most recent bug provides a work around for that. Should players spawn in at the checkpoint directly prior to the boss fight and defeat it without dying, they will get a Flawless Completion.

It’s worth saying that even this is still challenging, as agood understanding of the boss' mechanicsand a solid foundation of teamwork is required to defeat him without any deaths. Even still, it is far easier than clearing the whole dungeon without anyone dying even once.
There is an important caveat, however.Destiny 2offers players atriumph for completing the Pit of Heresy with no deaths, and another for completing it solo. Finally, there is a special emblem which can only be attained by completing the challenging dungeon under both conditions, solo and with no deaths. The new bug which allows players to bypass most of the dungeon will not help with this, as the Flawless Completion seems to only affect the player’s stat tracker and doesn’t register as such for meeting the conditions of the triumphs and emblem. This means players will have to get those rewards honestly.
In truth, this is less of abug in the Pit of Heresyand more just an oddity inDestiny 2’s stat tracking system. This method will work in nearly any dungeon inDestiny 2, as so long as the player spawns in at the last checkpoint and defeats the boss without any deaths they should qualify for a Flawless Completion on the stat tracker. Though some players may see this as an opportunity to get a few Flawless Completions on their record with relative ease, most simply see this as proof that the stat tracker is still broken and its numbers mean virtually nothing.
Public reaction to the bug has been mostly negative, as most players recognize that a fake time orFlawless Completion is really nothing to brag about. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time that the stat tracker inDestiny 2has had issues, so the new bug has brought up some old frustrations among many.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
