IfDead by Daylightplayers weren’t excited enough aboutthe newSilent Hillcrossover— which added The Executioner killer (Pyramid Head) as well as survivor Cheryl Mason and Midwich Elementary School map — the game just released a new costume pack alongside it. Both new characters as well as The Legion killer get terrifying outfits in the first addition since theSilent HillDLC.
Fans of the asymmetric horror gameDead by Daylighthave been excited for weeks since the next big update wasrevealed to be aSilent Hillcrossover. This update brings the infamously gruesome Pyramid Head along with one of the most well-known characters from the franchise, Cheryl Mason.

Alongside the release of these characters came new updates to the game, one notable change being the introduction of Legendary clothing. Rather than just being separate appearance pieces, this new rarity is a full set that can make your character look like a completely new one, essentially adding new characters to the game without needing new mechanics.
Viewers can see the first legendary customization in this new pack, which introduces the Lisa Garland appearance for Cheryl. Fans of theSilent Hillfranchise will recognize the nurse who played an important role in bothSilent HillandSilent Hill 3. In addition to this costume for Cheryl is Alessa Gillespie, arguably the most important character in the franchise—and who, in a sort of complicated way, is the same person as Cheryl. The Corrupted is a new skin for The Executioner that comes in the form of barbed wire wrapping around his body, raising his torturous legacy to new levels.
The final new skin is the only one not based on a living character from the games and is technically four new skins. The Legion now has access to Lost Mascot: Frank, Joey, Julie, and Suzie. These four bloody bunny outfits are based on Robbie the Rabbit, an eerie amusement park mascot that appears throughout theSilent Hillgames. While it is nice to see The Legion get some love, it does seem strange that The Huntress, whose entire persona is based on an eerie rabbit, did not get this new skin.
These new outfits are a welcome addition to the already exciting update, and fans are very eager to see more video game crossovers withDead by Daylight. The last big crossover was withStranger Thingsand, although it was well received by fans, didn’t answer the call for more horror game crossovers. Several notable franchises–includingResident Evil,Dead Space, andSilent Hill—have been asked about for a while now, so it is great to see at least one of those boxes get checked off.
WhileSilent Hillis exciting to see inDead by Daylight, it does beg the question of when a new game will be announced. Any outcry about this update has been centered around the request for developers to spend less time addingSilent Hillin other games and spend more time working onthe next installment in the franchise. Until then, fans can spend time running from Pyramid Head or channeling decades of frustration into playing as him.
Dead by Daylightis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox.
