The unique hybrid base-building and action-RPG gameplay ofThe Riftbreakerchallenges players to survive waves of alien hordes as they explore and study the planet of Galatea 37. Now interested gamers can put a date onThe Riftbreaker, as it’s confirmed to launch on October 14.

The new release date announcement trailer forThe Riftbreakeroffers a fast-paced hype trailer diving into the game’s most intense moments. That is to say that the trailer focuses onThe Riftbreaker’s mecha suit tearing through waves of hostile alien creatures with an arsenal of rockets, bullets, blades, and more. Base-building is only lightly shown, if only to show how bases can be used to enhance the player’s power against even larger foes and waves of alien enemies.

InThe Riftbreaker, players take on the role of Ashley S. Nowak, who is known as the Riftbreaker, and hermecha suit. Ashley is both a scientist and a commando and she’s taking a one-way trip to a new planet that could serve as a destination for human colonization. Ashley will have to use all of her talents to learn everything she can about the planet Galatea 37 and adapt her mech, arsenal, and bases to those needs in order to not just survive, but prepare for humanity’s arrival.

Those interested in getting a more in-depth impression ofThe Riftbreakerbefore it launches can try out the game’s free prologue, which is currently available onSteam.The Riftbreaker: Prologuewas originally planned to offer just a 30-minute glimpse at the full game, but some players have put more than 50 hours into it. Needless to say, it’s a thorough introduction.

As noted,The Riftbreakeris going to be offered on Xbox Game Pass at launch. It’ll be supported through all three main Xbox Game Pass services, which include PC, console, andcloud gaming.The Riftbreakerisn’t an exclusive, however. It’ll also be available to play on PS4 and PS5. It’ll also be available to purchase on PC and Xbox platforms separately.
