Summary
Daredevil: Born Againreportedly brings back Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page as part of its creative overhaul. However, a new snippet of information suggests she might not be as visible this time.
Daredevil: Born Againis seen by fans as a spiritual successor to the well-lovedDaredevilseries from Netflix due to the retention of the lead actor and a select few cast members. While fans can agree that there are certain things that the MCU’sDaredevil: Born Againcan learn from the Netflix series, it seems that Woll’s Karen Page won’t have the same staying power this time.

Coming from trusted sourceDaniel Richtmanvia Patreon, the rumor reveals that Woll, who was cast to reprise her prominent role as Matt Murdock’s trusted associate Page from the Netflix era, will only appear in threeDaredevil: Born Againepisodes despite being the main fixture of the original show. Additionally, Richtman couldn’t similarly confirm how prominently Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson would feature in the upcoming show. Page and Nelson both have a relation to Matt Murdock outside of the hero business, and they were instrumental in bringing Wilson Fisk to justice in the original show.
It’s been largely uncertain what direction the project could take since around October of 2023 when Marvel Studios sawmultiple firings in a bid to salvageDaredevil: Born Again. Assuming that the information is correct and that other returning characters will be treated similarly to Karen Page, this may be indicative of a push to properly integrate the series into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe or even an indication that the storyline will take place away from Matt Murdock’s legal practice and more focused on the multiversal threats that the MCU is currently setting up to resolve within the mainline narrative. Other recent reports have revealed plans for Daredevil and other characters like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to focus on more street-level evildoing with its grand narrative.

WhileDaredevil: Born Againcan do quite a lot to be successful, minimizing the role of Woll’s Karen Page doesn’t seem to be one way to tap into it. Fans will have to wait to see how Page and Nelson are treated in the MCU version of the show, and the studio can only wait and see how well any changes made will pass.
Daredevil: Born Againis currently expected to debut on Disney Plus in 2025.
