It may have had a rocky launch, but CD Projekt Red’s expansive and ambitious first-person adventureCyberpunk 2077has mostly managed to salvage its good name in the opinion of most players. With extensive patches, transformative updates, and plenty of hard work from the developer,Cyberpunk 2077has turned around its reputation as a buggy mess and become a game that fans are excited about once more – something that not a lot of troubled titles have been able to do. It won’t even match the pre-release hype, but that was astronomical and unrealistic anyway.

Disastrous launch aside, players are now looking to the future ofCyberpunk 2077. The base game is in a much better position, and most of the bugs and issues have been ironed out, so fans are wondering what’s next for the futuristic action RPG. CD Projekt Red promised players that some substantial DLC is on the way, although the developer hasn’t been clear about what it might entail just yet. Details may be scarce, but there is a long list of things that would be great tosee inCyberpunk 2077’s DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Story: Tying Up Loose Ends

There are plenty ofrumors floating around aboutCyberpunk 2077’s DLCand leaks about what it might contain, with new locations, characters, and missions, but some players want to ensure all the mysteries that are left by the story get addressed as well. There are several ways to finish offCyberpunk 2077’s story, and many of them leave a question mark over V and/or Johnny’s fates. It would be good to see how these pan out, as well as some unresolved plot points like the Moon colony that is frequently hinted at during the game or what other factions are up to that only briefly appear throughout the narrative.

New Cyberpunk 2077 Locations

Night City is a diverse, colorful, and chaotic location, and there is still plenty of it that players would like to explore. TheDLC has been rumored to feature new areas of Night City, but many are hoping that it opens up areas beyond this sprawling metropolis as well. Gamers only get to see a bit of the outside world in locations like the Badlands, but being able to travel to a completely new location and see what the world outside of Night City is like would be an amazing addition to the base game.

More Things To Do in Cuberpunk 2077

Among the many rumors regardingCyberpunk 2077’s DLC is the expansion of what Gigsare on offer. This will help with the role-playing aspects of the game and make V a more authentic character, as well as simply expanding activities for players. The DLC should continue to take this a step further, coming up with new ways to keep players entertained and encouraging them to explore Night City’s varied environs and crime-ridden streets.

Lifepath-Specific Elements

AlthoughLifepaths seemed like an intriguing element inCyberpunk 2077and a way to truly customize the gameplay experience, they didn’t really seem to have much of an impact once the game’s Prologue was out of the way. The DLC should find a way to re-incorporate these more to help give the players' initial decisions more weight. These could be through Lifepath-specific missions and relationships, or at least story options that correspond with their Street Kid, Nomad, or Corpo background.

A Focus On Other Cyberpunk 2077 Characters

Both V andJohnny Silverhand get a lot of screentime inCyberpunk 2077, with flashbacks exploring some of the rebellious rocker’s past before he found himself in V’s head, but the DLC could try to move away from these characters. If players have completed the game, then their story has been wrapped up one way or another, and in some cases with a very satisfying and optimistic ending. Revisiting these may not make sense, and Night City already has plenty of other faces that could help liven up the story, or potentially new characters that could provide a fresh perspective.

Cyberpunk 2077is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
