In a recent interview withCollider, Gillespie praised Disney for supporting his ideas and embracingthe dark tone of theCruellaorigin film. The filmmaker noted that he would be open to directing a sequel if it was with the same cast and crew. “I feel like we’ve only just met her,” said Gillespie, while adding, “I’d love to now see the full-blown Cruella, fully loaded. She’s managed to get the support system around her and she can really expand on her brand.” Thompson and Stone have also expressed interest in returning for a second installment. Thompson jokingly agreed that they should makeaGodfather II-style sequel that features Closeas an older Cruella.
