KirbyandElden Ringare polar opposites in tone, but when the two franchises are combined, they work together pretty well. One fan artist took the opportunity to combineKirbyandElden Ringin a creative and adorable piece of fan art.

Since its release,Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s new 3D style of gameplayhas been revolutionary for the series. While the gameplay may not prompt many comparisons toElden Ring, some of the boss battles seen in the Nintendo title do involve similar strategies.

Reddit user an artist heybinsu posted an image of their fan art, with the piece combining Kirby and some memorableElden Ringarmor sets. The piece depicts the pink puffball wearing three sets of armor fromElden Ring. These are the Raging Wolf set, Raya Lucarian armor set, and the General Radahn set, respectively, all keeping with the features and imagery fromElden Ring. For example,Radahn’s set has his double swords and the Raya Lucarian armor has a staff, weapons that the artist made sure to include.

The way these sets are drawn on Kirby is reminiscent ofcopy abilities in theKirbygames. WithKirby and the Forgotten Land’supgrade feature for copy abilities, this combination seems to work very well. The General Radahn set looks a little similar to the upgraded sword ability, and the Raya Lucarian armor is similar to the beam copy ability, which seems to work very well in this crossover.

This combination is very interesting due to the way that the artist interpretedKirbyinElden Ringarmor, especially with the few similarities between the games aesthetically.Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s boss battlesinvolve a lot of avoiding moves in a 3D environment, though, which players ofDark SoulsandElden Ringcould find familiar. Still, the games are very different beyond that.Kirby and the Forgotten Land’slow difficulty, even in Wild Mode, is nothing compared toElden Ring, but the intent with the crossover in this fan art is admirable.

InKirby and the Forgotten Land,Kirby is swept off into another world, and this is what he would look if he needed to survive in the Land Between. It’s true that the thought of combiningKirbywithElden Ringmight feel like a match of polar opposites due to the difference in tone, but they work very well when put together like in this piece of fan art. Combined in this way, the armor sets look almost cutein the style of theKirbygames.
