Call of Duty: Vanguardhas been available for a few days now, and while there have been some hiccups, the game seems to have been mostly well-received.Call of Duty: Vanguardreviewsare mostly positive and the reaction online seems to suggest fans are generally happy with this year’s take on the classicCoDmultipalyer formula. However,Call of Duty: Vanguardis certainly not without its flaws, and there’s one issue in particular that has been frustrating players.
Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers are currently struggling with a challenge for theAutomaton assault rifle, which players have to complete to unlock the Mind Games camo for the gun. To do this,Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers need to have specific items attached to the Automaton and get 10 kills with those attachments equipped, including the Assassin proficiency attachment. However, it seems that the Assassin proficiency attachment for the Automaton doesn’t actually exist in the game at the time of this writing due to a bug.

What this means is thatCall of Duty: Vanguardplayerscan’t complete the challenge to unlock the Mind Games camo for the Automaton assault rifle, and that makes it impossible for them to unlock the Gold camo. And being unable to unlock the Gold camo for theCall of Duty: Vanguardautomaton makes it impossible for players to get the Diamond camo for assault rifles. Unlocking Diamond camo for weapons is one of the most popular challenges in any givenCall of Dutygame, so it not working properly inVanguardis definitely frustrating for players.
Hopefully a fix for this issue comes sooner rather than later, though the developers have not commented on it at the time of this writing. PreviousCall of Dutygames have enjoyed weekly updates and it’s possible that the updates forCall of Duty: Vanguardwill have a similar release schedule, though nothing has been confirmed at the time of this writing.
The only day thatCall of Dutyfans know for sure will include aVanguardupdate in the near future is November 17. It’s been confirmed thatCall of Duty: Vanguardwill add the Shipment multiplayer mapon November 17, though it’s possible that’s all it will entail. The November 17 update could very well include bug fixes, maybe even a fix for this particular issue, but details have not been shared just yet. For now,Call of Dutyfans can work on unlocking the other camos for the Automaton and the other assault rifles in the game.
