Summary
While new Paradox forms were showcased for Cobalion and Raikou during Pokemon Present’s latest DLC trailer forPokemon ScarletandViolet, this reveal also seems to point toward two more remaining Paradox Pokemon for Gen 9 to complete these Legendary Trios. After first being teased inScarletandViolet’s respective books with sketches of amalgamated forms of the series' Swords of Justice and Legendary Beasts, the initialreveal of Virizion’s and Suicune’s Paradox formswas met with confusion since neither seemed to match what had been teased. But now with Iron Crown and Raging Bolt, these sketches have a new context.
Between anticipating that these Paradox Pokemon would be a combined trio to the introduction of Iron Leaves and Walking Wake, it was unclear whetherScarletandViolet’s sketches were red herrings, especially when the two were added before any DLC and not during. The reveal of Paradox forms for Cobalion and Raikou, however, and confirmation that they would become available with The Teal Mask portion of the DLC has revived previous fan theories. With a second part of the DLC also inScarletandViolet’s future and with Terrakion and Entei left in their trios, it seems that there are two more Paradox Pokemon yet to come.

Cobalion and Raikou and the Future of Paradox Pokemon
Though they weren’t the exclusive focus of the latest trailer and the breakdown of what to expect forScarletandViolet’s DLC, therevealed designs of Paradox Cobalion and Raikouwere met with mixed reactions, especially for Raikou’s giraffe-like neck. Regardless, their addition toScarletandVioletalongside their predecessors Iron Leaves and Walking Wake has given players a better perspective on the short-term future of Paradox Pokemon. So while these new Ancient and Future forms have focused mainly on Legendary Pokemon, this could still hold potential for new Paradox forms based on more standard Pokemon either in Gen 9 or beyond.
The renewed interest in Paradox Pokemon alongside their association withScarletandViolet’s DLC does suggest a deeper connection to the bigger picture of the mysterious Area Zero. Coupled with the showcase adding a montage of historic sketches of expedition crews and the strange cave markings that have left players scratching their heads, Game Freak’s plan seems to be building towards a grand finale in Area Zero andPokemonScarletandViolet. This is only strengthened by rumors about futurePokemonprojects that could be announced as the follow-up toScarletandViolet.

Terrakion and Entei Could Soon Follow
But beyond Game Freak’s futurePokemongames, the recent reveal of Iron Crown and Raging Bolt seems to confirm a much simpler suspicion among fans, which is that there will be two more Paradox forms added for Terrakion and Entei. Now that they are essentially the remaining Legendary Pokemon of their respective trios - albeit with the exception of Keldeo - it is believed that in the near future Game Freak will introduce another two Paradox Pokemon. Just asCobalion and Raikou’s new formswere teased as part ofScarlet and Violet’s first DLC, players could expect to see Paradox Terrakion and Entei revealed ahead of The Indigo Disk.
Until then, fans will be left to speculate about what designs and type combinations that each Paradox form of Terrakion and Entei will have, so long as their predicted inclusion is in fact true. Given that the previous sketches fromScarletandViolet’s books do seem to support the existence of all three Legendary Paradox Pokemon, it’s highly likely that Terrakion and Entei will be added toScarletandViolet, but nothing has been officially confirmed so far. Until they are, fans can still look forward to the two-partScarletandVioletDLC with all-new Pokemon, evolutions, and more.
